Didn't Gersonde average 43 yards in his first outing? Let's not act like special teams isn't getting the job done.

I posted this before we switched punters and no, the previous punter was not getting the job done.

Didn't Gersonde average 43 yards in his first outing? Let's not act like special teams isn't getting the job done.

No he averaged 37. The punters are not getting the job done at this point.

Gersonde's first 2 punts were straight into that wind in the 3rd quarter and the wind really picked up at half time. Lots of hang time as compared to Rastetter. Coaches were pleased. Recinos said that the 1st punt would have been a 50-yarder if not for going into the teeth of that wind.

The funny thing is that Rastetters soccer (rugby?) style punts are the best option when punting into the wind.
