How good was this kid yesterday? I looked up his offers and Drake and Toledo were his two best, followed by some more obscure programs. Really good shooter with an ability to drive and dish. He will have a nice career at Drake. Hopefully Bohannon has a similar game.

If he were two or three inches taller, he'd be at a bigger program. He's got skills. Coach Giac is trying to make Timmer the go-to guy in their rebuilding project.

He was unbelievably good. Fran raved about him. Good to see a kid like that do well. Where is he from?

Is this the part where someone says Fran missed? :)

Just goes to show with the likes of the Timmer kid, Washpun, Baer....that high school basketball is very deep in talent and even with all the AAU stuff and drones and CIA intervention some players still slip through the cracks.

Something to think about when we are inclined to jump aboard the "I said it first" train and make guesses, especially as to which kids Iowa recruits are going to turn out to be "garbage". We just don't know. And frankly none of them deserve some of the labels a few of us toss out.

I think everyone on here knows your opinion on criticism towards Iowa players, and that's fine. But everyone is entitled to their opinions no matter if that criticism is positive or negative. Constantly implying some posters aren't entitled to perhaps negative opinions is obsurd. I respect your basketball knowledge very much, but please don't criticize others for criticizing others. Players expect criticism and at the same time they know some of that criticism is bullshit anyway - or at least they'd better.

Great player. Amazing he could get missed by so many evaluators in this day and age.

Entitlement what a wonderful world. One guy even went as far as to say Jordan Bohannon = Garbage. Now that is not very respectful in my entitled opinion.

I have no idea how effective Jordan Bohannon will be at Iowa. If Nic Baer teaches us anything - you just don't know. But if some want to post they don't think highly of Bohannon before he even puts on an Iowa uniform - go for it.

I get what you are saying. I probably do complain about the complainers to the point where it gets annoying. Now, if I may make two points in my defense.

I've read comments (and heard some things attributed to parents of players...things I won't repeat) in interviews and you know, yes, players should look at the criticism as bullshit. But after awhile it isn't so easy. Remember Woody's shushing the crowd?

And. Imagine I'm standing atop a landfill, and I pull up a piece of something smelly and disgusting and say, "This is smelly and disgusting!" Alright, who's fault is that? Mine for digging around in a landfill. So, is HR a landfill?

I simply believe that those who are too immature to comment logically, realistically and respectfully are simpletons that have no integrity and their impact is minute.

he didn't. he's playing at a rising program in a decent conference. he was overshadowed by LaChance and Ellingson on his AAU team, but still got plenty of pub.

He's a nice player. There are so many talented guards in high school, that the elite guards have to have the "wow" factor-- speed, height, agility, etc.

All the same, he went to Drake so I think it is obvious a lot of coaches missed in his evaluation.

EastIowaHawk is right. There are many excellent players. A majority of those that are eventually labeled as having been "missed" by many a good program are those that lack something in the eye test department. They are often tweeners. Baer, for example, is very skinny. Timmer is short. Neither has the perfect measurables so they are considered second tier.

Those that pass the eye test athletically often lack some key skills, and programs are willing to overlook that for unbelievable raw athleticism. That sometimes works; other times it means you have someone that has rare physical capabilities - the measurables - but never develops the raw skills into exceptional basketball fundamentals.
