He is horrible. I posted in another thread. It seriously is the culture of ISU. From the AD’s obsession of Iowa, to the coaches, the players, the fan base, and Randy. All are obsessed and jealous of Iowa. Their obsession, jealousy and delusion knows no bounds. I seriously don’t know how the ISU athletic department and fans and Randy would ever survive without Iowa. Seriously. We give them their only relevance and all any of them care about is Iowa. I mean, if Barta posted billboards in Western Iowa I would be embarrassed. If we ever had over 35k posts on ISU football and basketball and 5K on Iowa on this board, I would lose it. It is the saddest and most pathetic program and fans in the country.

If this was the case, Peterson would have been let go by now. There are plenty of delusional clone fans that drink the clone poo-laid dished out by both Register Randy and Chris ‘fan boy’ Williams.
Peterson does a decent job. Hawk fans don't like him because he covers the Clones plain & simple.
To some extent, the folks who cover ISU and Iowa locally have to be positive. If they aren't, access could be cut off which would mean the end of their careers. Peterson's articles are so over the top positive as to be funny. They should be in a satirical site. My biggest criticism of Leistikow and Emmert is the overly positive outlook about the Iowa basketball program both coming into this last year and in assessing what needs to be done. The program had one of the worst seasons ever, but separate board.
But I think both Leistikow and Emmert pegged Iowa for a 7-5 regular season heading into 2017 football, which was right on the nose.
I don't think Randy ended up doing Isu any favors by publicizing the fact they haven't had anyone drafted in 4 years.

Because he's a crap reporter. He asks crap questions. He provides zero insight into the team or anything else. If you actually want to learn something about ISU athletics then Randy P is the last place you want to go.
The only one that comes to mind really is the article he wrote during the 2016 basketball season, about how there was a slide the previous year but there was no way that was going to happen to that team. They lost like 5 of 6 or something after that article.
Travis Hines works for the Ames Trib and he poo poos just about everything related to ISU and hasn't had any sort of access cut off. I think the removal of access thing is totally overblown especially in 2018. You can't truly cut off access at this point. Plus Pollard basically wants people talking about ISU 24/7.
Go to CyFan, go to the search bar, type Randy Petersen, and you'll find about 50% of the posts just straight up making fun of him.

Randy is just like the Clone fan base and their AD. Basically the glass isn’t half full it is all the way fulll. And any chance to go after big brother that is all they care about it. It really is sad that there is no question a high percentage of Clone fans get more enjoyment from a Hawk loss than clone win
I don't think that is the reason. I think it is because many of his articles are written more like he's part of the ISU Sports Information department versus the Des Moines Register.
I predicted a while ago that Lazard wouldn't make it in the NFL. The league is just too damn good. McNutt couldn't stick, and he was a better college player than Lazard. Put up better stats in 3 years than Lazard could put up in 4.

But according to the official isu propoganda his injury had NOTHING to do with the court storming.

No he fell that night when the students stormed the court. The isu folks tried to play it off that the court storming had nothing to do with his accident and I don’t buy that.
