Well, all I can say is the money folks don't mind his coverage. If they didn't care for his work, he wouldn't be doing it.
The storyline of biased coverage is interesting to me when it comes to Iowa State. I think it has to do with the readership, kind of like politics these days. Can't have the readership/viewership go down because of depressing headlines like "Iowa State unlikely to have a draft pick for the 5th year in a row" or "Iowa State: likely to miss a bowl game for the 5th time in 6 years." So they blow smoke constantly.
Central Iowa media seems to have no trouble calling it like it is with Iowa. I think the readership demands that type of unbiased coverage because there are real expectations here. So I laugh at the Peterson/CyFan coverage because only real losers get that kind of coverage.

I love reading RP's coverage of ISU. There couldn't be a better marriage than an uninformed jock-sniffer, a hack writer, creating puff pieces about an irrelevant program...perfect fit.

I feel for ISU fans. It's a lose lose situation. If MC really does make you relevant he isn't staying. No one is going to stick around Ames. No one. You must feel like you live in purgatory.

Another basketball swerve, Johhny is a yes. May want to review Larry and his career before throwing that out. Nice list of football coaches. As far as the 2nd part, great effort, if Larry fits your criteria than your list should be longer.
Johhny Orr is the same coach that is under .500 in Big 8 play? I wouldn't say that was too successful. He probably regretted leaving Michigan.

Johnny Orr was a 137 years old when he landed at ISU, no school considered to be a step up was reaching out to him and his mediocre results in Ames. As for Eustacy, with his temperament, baggage and dependency issues, he had topped out at ISU, so lets not pretend ISU fought off all these elite suitors when they were at the height of their success. I also think its amusing you try having a discussion about football, and you have to resort to naming basketball coaches or achievements to support a weak argument of yours.

8-5 season equates to moving the needle and being relevant now? Because all the time like after the 16' season ISU fans rip Iowa for being irrelevant after a 8-5 campaign and the whole narrative of "no one outside of Iowa cares about an 8-5 team" etc. Pump the breaks a little there skippy and let's see if they string together multiple successful seasons before you get ahead of yourself too much.

Cool story Syracuse beat Clemson this year. Pittsburgh beat them the year before they won the national title. Maybe can give your coach a 10 year extension like after you beat Okie St. Congrats you had 2 wins vs ranked teams. Season consist more than 2 games which showed after losing multiple games to end the year. Again to quote your own fan bases word no one nationally cares about an unranked 8-5 team.
