I think that game unfortunately created unwarranted excitement. I was drinking the koolaid after that game, but easily forgot that we were basically manhandled in that game.

It goes to show KF can get his players up to play the BIG BOYS, but sadly can't get them hyped to play the NW, PU, and MSU of the world.

The sad thing was the rest of the Big Ten took that film from the PSU game and used it to their advantage. They saw if you stack the box vs Iowa, they have no threats on the outside and their RUN game can be stopped. Iowa coaches made zero changes through out the season. Pretty sad that we did not see any wrinkles the rest of the year.

I was in attendance at that game (actually, all the home games except N Tex), and I did not expect us to whiff a division title after that. We should have lost that game by 3+ scores if you look at the box score. At the time, I expected us to finish with ~8 wins. I counted OSU as a for-sure loss. I counted MSU, Northwestern, and Wisconsin as toss-ups. Thought we were definitely capable of dropping a game against Minnesota, Purdue, and Nebraska. Yesterday was the first time we've looked terrible at home. We're playing for nothing next week against a team that's playing for their senior day and maybe an outside shot at a 5-win bowl bid (no idea how many if any slots will be available for 5 win teams this year).

No. Our offense was pathetic that day. The defense was on the field for over 100 freakin’ plays because we continued to call the same running plays that never worked even when PSU consistently had 8 in the box with over-pursuing linebackers.

Was that second half of your post sarcasm?...........

I hope it was.

If Northwestern were to be disqualified academically and Wisconsin, as a team, were to defect to the Ukraine and Iowa beats Nebraska this Friday and Purdue loses, thereby avoiding us being held out on a tiebreaker...

WE ARE IN@!@@

Hmmm yeah gotta get up to rep the fanbase and take pride in a 5 win bowl bid.

I think they'll settle for just beating Iowa after what we did last year.

They've had this game circled regardless of what their record was gonna be.

Kirk will always happily oblige when teams show that kind of revenge hype/motivation.
