"I think we're better than McDonough and Ramos and I'm putting that out there"- Gilman (referring to Clark and himself prior to the 14-15 season)

For the sake of argument, lets say that both Gilman and Clark go out on top to finish their senior seasons. How does the duo compare to McDonough and Ramos' COLLEGIATE career.

McDonough: 1-2-1-R12
Ramos: R12-3-2-1
(6 AA's, 5 Finals appearances, 3 titles)

Gilman: X-4-2-1
Clark: 5-2-2-1
(7 AA's, 5 Finals appearances, 2 titles)

When its all said and done it would be interesting to compare career winning percentages, results, strength of opponents, look at all losses etc.. just for fun. Like said above, could be an even better tandem coming in soon enough

Its fun looking at our 125/133 situation throughout the years, especially under the Brands Bros. You see great results, year after year after year.

Interesting conversation. If you would have asked me three years ago the number of titles Gilman and Clark would collectively win, I would have said 3-4. These two guys have been great for Iowa and I wouldn't trade either of them, but they have not hit the expectations of most - fair or not.

Don't forget about the 1 legged man child McD faced. It really isn't close, especially if you give Tony the title he got robbed of.
What we should be doing is comparing the pin of Streebler that was not called vs. the pin of Nato that was called. I think the one that wasn't called was closer to a pin than the one that was. And for all the grief Tony got after the trials, and rightly so, we should be reminded how he approached the lack of pin call in the Streebler match. I was ready to march on IC and try and tip a Cambus, but Tony calmed me down with his response. Thank goodness, he probably saved me a heart attack.

The only reason it's even a consideration is because McD had a horrible injury, and TRam had to go through Steiber for 2 years. Personally I think it's hands down, McD and Ramos.
True! It's pretty incredible what Matt and Tony accomplished, especially considering that both guys had some pretty awful luck along the way.

If Matt has to wrestle only 2-legged opponents, he almost certainly wins Nationals his sophomore year (to take nothing away from Robles at all -- great champ -- but also an anomaly that Matt had never encountered), and without his injury he very likely wins Nationals again, becoming our first 4x champ.

And if Tony doesn't have to wrestle phenom and 4x champ Streibler, he probably adds 2 titles for a total of 3. . . and, as mentioned above, if his fall against Streibler were called as it should have been, he wins 2.

So it is pretty remarkable to think about how close Matt and Tony were to 1,1,1,1 and R12, 1, 1, 1, respectively. Of course, you can play the woulda, coulda game with any wrestler, and Cory and Thomas have had their own tough breaks, as well. Still interesting to ponder, though.

As also mentioned above, it certainly will be interesting to see how Lee and Teasdale fare in few years. Very likely going to post a whole lot of "1"'s.

Wishing Thomas and Cory a championship in their last go-around! Now's the time, boys!
