Rewatching 87 elite 8

Nooooooooo, why just why did you have to do it!!!! Exactly why did you have to bring that game up:mad:
Watching it, since nothing good is on. I was almost 10 years old that day, still remember going outside to play ball when Iowa was up18, coming back in the house for the final minute

Watch some reruns of something else please, I'm still traumatized from that game. I remember I chucked a shoe at the wall as the damn thing was ending. You know how to ruin a guys night

Many would rather get Corona that watch that again.

I remember going outside in Ankeny after that game, it was a very nice Sunday afternoon and up and down the street people came out of their house screaming and needed fresh air.

surreal.

That's why you need a coach that knows time and space. There was no need for Davis to push the team to go balls out and attempt shots at a record pace when up 18 in the second half. UNLV knew Iowa would not slow down it's offensive and it ended up biting the Hawks in the a$$. We had a veteran team that crapped in it's pants.
A stain that will never come out.....

I might have to watch Iowa-Syracuse and Iowa-Georgetown today. Happier results.
Damn this sux.

Kevin Gamble's shot in the semi final against OK is probably my favorite moment of Hawkeye fandom. The second half of the UNLV game was my least favorite.

It's too bad, I loved watching UNLV under Tark and hated seeing them end up matched up against Iowa.

So you’re to blame - stop watching at halftime because we’re so far ahead? YOU jinxed them ;) I know you were only 10, so really I should blame your parents for not bringing you back inside once the lead began to shrink.

Don’t think I didn’t take blame upon myself then, superstitious as I was then

We think that was a great team and it may have been but watching some of those old games reminds me of how undisciplined Davis coached teams could be. High turnover ratios and that mostly awful press that resulted in more layups than steals. Prove me wrong...
