Well for starters the DNC was obviously having nothing of it. Making the rules up as they go, the people pulling the strings there made doubly sure it wasn't going to be about the electorate.

There was a thread about this. RFK was running as a Dem. A couple weeks ago RFK announced the DNC made the decision that if his campaign physically set foot in any particular state, every vote from that state would automatically go to Biden. That's what forced him to go independent.
