For those that don't know. I had a good friend whos brother had polio and when i visited him, his brother was in an iron lung. A huge machine in the living room that ran 24 hours a. day that was so loud i have no idea how they slept at night. He spent a year in iron lung, before he received the shot, one of the first and eventually recovered, years and got his health back, one of the lucky one. Chuck passed away about 8 years ago.

Yes, and because not all of our immune systems are created, it was pretty random who survived and who didn’t. Vaccines level the playing field; especially for the very young/old who are most vulnerable to diseases.
