Riley Moss Appreciation Thread

We are so solid in the back 7. Defense is going to be tough. Next week will be a good test. I'm sure ISU won't be the same team that was out there today. That what happens when you prepare for Iowa for 8 months and little preparation for UNI.

Riley Moss is the man. Yeah he got burned against a couple teams (Purdue stands out) as a young player (think he was a frosh, could be wrong).

However, you could tell he was a student of the game and was in the right position with the right mechanics EVERY SINGLE TIME. He wasn’t being burnt by being out of position - he was beaten by incredible throws by NFL QBs and elite receiving talent. Obviously it looks like he took his film watching and athletic ability to the next level in the offseason. NFL is about to have another white dude at corner next year

In his post-game interview Riley Moss
credited the Hawkeyes preparation and
watching the film of Indiana as the keys
to victory. Coaches did a good job.

Riley Moss is the pride of his hometown,
Ankeny, Iowa. As a Senior he was a great
inspirational player against Indiana. His
defense accounted for 12 points with his
2 interceptions for a total of 85 yards.

Congrats to Riley Moss for his big day.
So more offense than Breece Hall?

Riley should get a NIL clothing deal

I’m not sure there’s any position group in the Iowa program that I trust more than Phil Parker’s secondary….and with the OL, DL and TEs Iowa has put in the NFL, that’s saying a lot.

Moss is a great example of IOWA's defensive coaching. Phil prepares his guys, they know where they're supposed to be and execuate and man do they turn from defense to offense the instant they get a turnover.

I don't recall him ever being burned. He's lost 50-50 balls to high level receivers, but that's part of the game. It's hard to think of a time when Moss was ever out of position. It's probably happened, but I don't remember it. Even as a freshman, he was in the right place fighting for the ball on plays where his receiver scored. He's a damn good cornerback.
