thanks for posting ibird, i appreciate the information,i just can't put a like on this kind of news.that guy was one tough son of a gun.

He was a great guy and great ambassador for the sport. He would do his apple crush demonstration and pose for placement pictures every year at Tulsa Nationals.

Not everyone is aware of his Boxing skills/record. Can you imagine if there was MMA back in his day. Killer Wrestler, Champion Boxer = Bad News for his opponents!!!

At the age of 74 he crushed an apple with one hand live on ESPN during the 2006 NCAA Wrestling Championships. He said his strength was due to having double tendons in his hands.

He also won three national freestyle championships and took home a silver medal from the 1956 Melbourne Olympics. He enjoyed an 18-year run as a professional wrestler and accrued a 17-0 record as a boxer in the 1950s.
