She blew the safety call and was overruled.

Well, I guess that just makes her one of the boys. After all, I have heard rumors that male officials are often clueless.

I can understand why she was hesistant to make the saftey call as the play could not be undone if she called it and she was wrong against NIU's efforts. The blocking calls seemed to be chippy and legalistic, devoid of playing experience. The officiating crew were certainly not B1G material. Probably from a non-P5 conference.

I’d prefer her reffing an Iowa game over Dave Witvoet any day.

A safety call can be overturned. All scoring plays are reviewed.
