Roll call… who’s headed to the bowl game

After reading all the posts on this site that bowls are irrelevant. Missouri is going to piss pound us and after Johnson opted out and we have no running game left along with a less than stellar QB option I think I'll stay home. Maybe watch some of it so I can come here and post why Iowa won/lost the game. So no.

Maybe? We have friends in the Nashville area plus it's only 8 hours so an easy drive. Head down Sunday, hit the game on Monday, drive back Tuesday.

We are waiting a bit to see if ticket prices go down. Nashville is a great place to celebrate new years. our drive is only seven hours and we can hit the bourbon trail in Kentucky on the way. TBD.
Down from $21?

I'd rather go to the dentist

Main Street or Broadway?

Great place to have a good time but drink prices are a joke and you tip the bands. I’m sure cover charges are going to be crazy at some of the bars.

Broadway. There are other parts of town for fun. The gulch, twelve south, Germantown, East Nashville ( the red door has a long happy hour / hours with good low prices), west end. Go to liepers fork for a mini galena. Get a recession special at Roberts western world, (fried bologna sandwich, chips, moon pie, can of blue ribbon for $7) one of the few original honky tonks on Broadway. Hear some great music at a low price away from the madding crowd at third and Lindsley. Few bars on Broadway require a cover. Tipping the band is optional.

Thanks for the info. Yes, tipping the bands is optimal but they wear you out before, during, and after each song. Like hitting Martin’s bbq as the drink and food is less costly and they have a great bourbon selection. Live entertainment is great too. Good place to go for dinner, drink, and hang till they close at 10 or so then head to Broadway.

Tell me about The Gulch. Might hit it up

I have rooms booked so planning on it but can back out until Dec 26th. Watching ticket prices. Plan to drive over Saturday and come home Dec 31st. Wife has to work some Monday and Tuesday so not making it easy on us.

Not to mention the much higher cost in food, motel, entertainment, car rental, gas, booze heck you name it. Next years bowl game will be much cheaper to attend.
Rooms are much cheaper than two years ago.

People "waiting for the tickets to go down" should be in luck. If you are planning to go I would not let that stop you. I went two years ago and got awesome seats walking up to the stadium, which looked about 35% full. I would expect less people this year.

Stay at hotels near the airport, music city Sheridan, sonesta, etc.. Uber downtown for $20 ( depending on demand) and save some $$$.
Two years ago I parked car and didn't move it until we left. Hotel prices aren't bad downtown this year. Stayed 6 nights. Not quite as long this year.

Boy, you must be fun to be around. Lol. Moulton and Patterson are fully capable backs. The yards after contact is a huge step back, but they can both take it to the house. Sullivan is healthy and should have much more going for him with a full three weeks as the qb. Honestly, this is where the Hawks should just see what Sully has got and open it up. It is the last game of the season. If this is truly Lester’s offense, I would like to get a better glimpse of it.

We might even luck out and win. Who knows?

Staying in Opryland. Will probably hang out downtown for the evening after the game. Haven't been to a bowl game since the '93 Alamo. Also, I have kind of a bad streak going with watching the Hawks away from Kinnick (UCLA this season, BTCG x3, Maryland '14; I think the last time I saw the Hawks win an away game was at Soldier Field), so I'm hoping to break that streak. Trips like this I consider a vacation in which the main goal is to take in the local scene; the game is gravy.

Using the game as an excuse to travel to Nashville for a couple days. I don't expect the game itself to be fun.
