Seems like we're starting to see evidence of that in what just aired on BTN Live just now...

Mike Hall and Derek Rackley talked extensively on who they picked as favorites for the title the coming year, and they talked extensively on Michigan, Ohio State, and Michigan State in this segment. They ended the segment with the following lines:

Mike Hall: So you say either possible or in the hunt is Michigan State, Ohio State, and Michigan. Not Iowa? Right?

Derek Rackley: It's just hard for me to say that after how that Rose Bowl game ended up shaking out.

Mike Hall: Fair enough! Much more football coming up throughout the course of this hour long BTN Live.

Perhaps Hall might have responded to that and asked why a team that got blown out and scored no points in their bowl game and doesn't get dismissed like he dismisses Iowa, even though Iowa doesn't lose their quarterback like these other teams do.

JT Barrett returns for OSU.

As mentioned OSU doesn't lose QB, and with all the qbs that would love to play for harbaugh...I doubt it will matter for michigan much either. They've got plenty of 4star Qbs to choose from and a coach that knows what to do with them. I'm sure they will find one.

That said I don't see how on earth they can say MSU without mentioning Iowa. They lose their QB, best receiver, best defensive player and a bunch more.

Their opinion doesn't really matter though, so oh well....

this is what KF means when he says we are just lil ol Iowa, Number of TV sets and the stares population dictates the attention a team gets, IA low population = crap team every year, it is getting to be the same with Nebraska low population state a crap program.

sorry but its the facts, remember Wisconsin went to 3 straight Rose Bowls and they are treated like a crap team, face it they suck up to Michigan, O$U, and now MSU EVEN PSU gets better pub than the West division teams

Never mind what MSU did in their bowl game and the fact Iowa played MSU similar to UM and OSU. Also, MSU lost to Nebraska and Iowa beat them. Until Iowa wins multiple division titles or a championship they won't be mentioned as they aren't sexy enough or provide any drama for them to talk about.

If we win games next year, they'll talk about us every day, just like they did this year. Just win.

I saw that too. Bummer that some of these "talking heads" dismiss Iowa because they lost to Stanford. Mind you Iowa's two losses are to #6 & #3 in the final AP poll. That's pretty good record if you ask me, they have wins over #23 & NW.

I kind of like it, I hope the hawks use that game as motivation in the off-season and get better. I realize we lose some "key components" off this years team, but they be replaced.

I saw where Stanford got a top DL commit yesterday. Damn the rich keep getting richer. Iowa can't break through with some of these elite players.

We all know the track record.
Much better to have lower expectations, little mention in the conference or nationally.
They have a good shot to win the west and get back to the B1G title game. I like their chances better at doing that if they are under the radar.

awesome. It seems we were all worried about a team coming in next year overconfident with lots of praise and high expectations. With the way the season ended and the talk from the media this should not be the case now.

In fairness to whoever the hell those two guys are, I am not sure I disagree. Iowa played two elite teams last year and lost both games and they played two teams ranked in the 20's and won. Hoping next year can be another top 10 season but being ranked between 15 and 25 is probably more realistic. The schedule next year is a lot tougher.

Who can blame a couple of TV wonks for dismissing the Hawkeyes after they looked like a junior high team in the Rose Bowl? Respect is earned and they got plenty of it after the B1G title game. Then came the Rose Bowl mismatch. Losing the game wasn't apocalyptic but there are going to be public perceptions issues for any program that gets drubbed on the national stage, even more so if you've been mediocre in recent seasons. Next season offers a chance to renew and improve and show the pundits wrong. Until then, the Hawks will probably get the media respect they deserve, which is minimal.

Win and who gives a flyin f$#k what some clown on BTN has to say.

Mike Hall was calling people out all season long for criticizing Iowa... he does a very good job, and BTN is much better than the alternatives.

I don't consider the BTN much better than the alternatives because they tell me what I want to hear. And you would hope that a network about the Big Ten would stick up for a Big Ten team.

Could care less. Win the games. We are going to start out as a top 20 team this year. Get on a streak and we could be back in the top 10 before you know it. Beat Michigan!
