Remember when Rose Bowl tickets were over the moon, price-wise?

It seems as if it were just two weeks ago. Which it was.

On Dec. 7, the lowest-end tickets for the Jan. 1 football game between Iowa and Stanford in Pasadena, Calif., were going for $560. Which was insane, of course.

The “cheap seats” at Ticketnetwork and TicketCity were $500.

Well, what do you know? The prices on the secondary market have fallen, and hard. They are now much closer to the face value of the tickets, which is from $150 to $185.

As of Tuesday at 11:15 a.m., Central time, the low-end seats on StubHub were selling for $164.99. At TicketCity, they were $168. The cheapest at Ticketnetwork were $203.

Patience is a virtue, Sherlock Holmes told Dr. Watson. Holmes knew.

If that is true ciggy...was Prudence the name of Holmes mistress? I gotz to know!

You must be sick if you were one of the people that blew 2 grand on tickets, or blew 10-15K on travel packages.

This became incredibly affordable for those that were patient.

I really hope that there weren't too many Iowa fans that bought those expensive tickets. It was pretty easy to see that the sellers were just vultures trying to take advantage of a fan base that hadn't been to a Rose Bowl in 25 years. There were plenty of posters on this site advising not to buy tickets at those prices and the prices will come down.

In general, Iowans will spend money, but they aren't stupid about it.
