Who will redshirt? Who will transfer? If I had to take a guess.....

PG: Williams/Bohannon
SG: Jok/Fleming/Moss
SF: Uhl/Hutton/Baer
PF: Cook/Jones
C: Wagner (Cook could go here as well)

If anyone were to transfer I'd say Ellingson. Two redshirt candidates seem to be Kriener and Pemsl. Thoughts?

I think we need one or both of Kreiner and Pemsl. Someone should redshirt, but it's a wait and see game. Some depends on Jones' recovery and development. We need bodies down in the block, though.

Uhl better be careful his lack of defense doesn't let Hutton or someone pass him. I'm pretty interested to see if Hutton's D lives up to the hype. If it does, he'll play.

Here are a couple of thoughts...from someone who is not a basketball expert. So, just my wild guesses.

1) Our front line players will just be forwards. I wouldn't list anyone as a post player (Center) or a small forward. I think the Uhl, Wagner, Cook, Hutton, etc....will all play similar roles and may have to defend in the post. G G F F F

2) I think in next year's rotation that the starter V. bench player minutes will be much different than this year. I think there will be a lot more players playing more minutes than our current reserves and other than Pete I don't see anyone playing starter minutes like JU does this year.

3) Just a WAG, but my guess for a transfer is Flemming. I don't have any inside knowledge....just know that he still has a red shirt to use and he isn't afraid to travel....from Ten. to Oak Hill, etc.

Who can shoot the ball next year besides Jok? It could become the gang that could not shoot straight. We need a Yogi in the worse way.

Everybody can use a Yogi. But, usually end up with a Boo-boo.

Just curious but what has Fleming shown you to put him in the rotation ahead of Moss? I think Fleming could still work out and and contribute but his future role remains somewhat of a mystery. Ellingson to transfer based on what you want to see or think most likely to happen? We have a large number of fans currently writing him off which I think seems premature.

You can never predict with Fran what he will do but I could see him leaving Jok at small forward and maybe even starting Moss if he really comes on. Uhl needs to step up his game especially on defense if he wants to start for Fran.

I don't really know, there's a ton of different possibilities of what could happen. I'm not sure what to expect out of Moss and Hutton, we haven't seen them play. I think they obviously have a ton of potential, but as of right now I have no clue where they would fit in compared to guys like Fleming, and Baer. As far as Ellingson, just not a D1 player imo. If the shooting is not there, he's gonna struggle big time. He just doesn't have the athleticism, or other parts to his game to make up for shooting slumps. If he starts to shoot the ball well, great, then he can find his way in the game.

Dale Jones, when healthy, seems to be a pretty good shooter. Other candidates include Uhl, Baer, Flemming, Brady E, and it sounds like Bohanan can shoot it. At this point Williams, Pemsl, and Moss might also be possibilities.

I agree that outside shooting appears to be a possible weakness at this point, but we don't really know for sure.

*A summer trip for this next version of the Hawkeyes could be a really, really good thing. I hope they can take one.
