Russia begins airstrikes against Syria

Russia is burning through their cash reserves, so he won't be dumping billions into the military forever. He can attempt to jump in and win this thing quick, but he'll create generations of Sunni Muslims who hate Russia. What he will probably wind up doing is try to pull out after propping up Assad, or replacing him. How is Putin going to spin a captured pilot being beheaded? The Russian people don't want this. They don't want the cost, and they don't want the lives lost.

Right now Putin is bombing Syrian rebels (in support of his Buddy Assad) not ISIS. No surprise.

CNN was funny yesterday - anchors with straight faces saying Russia is making a mess of the situation in Syria. The talking heads have swallowed the administration's propaganda hook line and sinker. There never was a clear outcome to this mess. Even if Assad leaves, there is no one fraction that can consolidate power and end the civil war.

Obama is learning you can't just ignore a mess sometimes. But Putin is the one making the biggest mistake, getting involved too late in this morass. The blunt truth is this all started with that idiot Bush Jr and Cheney the Chicken Hawk. They set the Middle East on fire and now the West is also being burned. Just the sheer number of Muslim refugees practically guarantees there will be problems for the future generations of Europe.

I look at it this way, if Russia takes care of the issues in Syria, good for us.

What does Putin have to do with what SSGT said? We don't need Putins permission to sit back and watch the fun. Romney predicting this, was more of an inevitable assumption. The Dems aren't nearly as inactive in all this madness as the pundits would lead you to believe.

They've been watching Putin push Obama around right and left on indirect confrontations. At least that's been their interpretation even though Obama snagged 80% of Ukraine.

They have admired Putin for making Obama look bad (again, their interpretation, unsupported by facts). Now they are believing their own propaganda about both Putin and Obama. So naturally they are nervous.

To be fair to our cons, Obama has royally screwed up in Syria. But you'd think they'd be glad so see him schooled again (as they view it) by their Russian hero.
