Rutgers "Insider" Claims Elite Guys Leaving Both PSU and Iowa

I wouldn’t necessarily say he was toe to toe with Gabe Arnold. In match 1 when he thought he was just as good he got smoked. He then played the stall and hope game the next 2 matches and was allowed to stall by refs making it seem close.
I was surprised at how close Naak made it in HS. Gabe has pretty clearly improved/developed in the room from where I’m sitting. Lots of different looks and feels fromthe upper weights in the Iowa room these days.

He was much better in the post season than the regular season. He outplaced his seed 3 out of the 4 times he competed at the NCAA tournament. He was seeded 6th when he finished 2nd 2022, he was seeded 14th when he finished 5th in 2023 and was seeded 5th when he finished 4th in 2021. PK was seeded 6th and 12th and didn’t place either time.
I think you are both agreeing to agree. I mean you're both correct in that he did very very well in the regular and post seasons. Going into the post season seeded as such means he had a pretty impressive regular season as well. :)

Connor Euton is a room guy

As a RS frosh last year he beat multiple NCAA qualifiers and this year he was ahead of Gaitan, who also qualified last year and was ranked in the top 10. Not sure that’s a room guy.

If not for a brain fart/questionable takedown, the match was not close.

Hunter Garvin is a returning AA so clearly top competition, but he had Caliendo on the ropes until he gassed halfway through the match from having to make weight for the second day in a row where Caliendo didn't. Connor Euton is a room guy who was wrestling on a torn ACL, so I don't see much difference between him and Riggins, and PK was far more impressive in that match. We'll see how the season goes because there is still a lot of wrestling left, but so far, Caliendo has been unimpressive.
Gassing has been an issue in all of Garvin's matches that I've seen this year. There are lots of guys who will struggle and give up points to Garvin the first time they wrestle him. He has a unique style that you don't see often. Now that "Caliendo has felt Garvin in a live match I don't expect him to have to come from behind to win if the see each other again.
