Ryan Bowen's Future

The Nuggets fired their head coach, Michael Malone, and their GM today. Ryan Bowen has worked for Malone as an assistant since 2015. It would not be a surprise if Bowen is soon looking for a new job.
Not that he'll ever discuss it but I would love to hear from him about that situation.

I would love for him to be on staff.

Still can’t believe the Nugz fired Malone.

Especially WHEN they fired him.
Good point. Nuggets are 15 games above .500 in the Western Conference and in 4th place. It's been reported that Malone and Calvin Booth (GM) didn't get along with one another, along with rumors of back-stabbing each other to management. And I don't know whether that was the sole reason for both of them getting the axe. The Nuggets however, have lost 4 straight games, and I'm inclined to believe THAT weighed heavily on management's decision to terminate both of them, along with possible drama between Mike and Calvin, and that is speculation.

I bet he winds up okay. Seems like the Nuggets might just promote the interim who could potentially keep him on staff or Bowen could follow Malone to his next job like when he moved from Sacramento to Denver. Doubt Malone is out of work for very long with the way the NBA hires retreads

Not sure why you wouldn't be happy to have Ryan on staff
Why would he be a benefit? He's never coached at the college level has been removed from the college game for what 40 years now. Lot has changed since then. Does he have ties to HS players? Does he help with NIL? Does he just want to stay in the NBA? will he bolt for the first NBA job? Is there a better candidate without Iowa ties? that's ok too

Look Im just saying the first response to coach becomes available or who should fill X spot on staff doesn't always have to be Iowa guy or lets hire him.

He was on some of the Fran staffs early albeit in a support role. Not every assistant needs to be solely focused on recruiting, he's a very well respected NBA assistant who has worked for good teams and has been credited as helping develop the best player in the NBA. He'd definitely be a credit to the staff but there's not much reason to think he wants or needs a college job at the moment, he hasn't even lost his NBA job yet

By all accounts Ryan is a good coach. Plenty qualified for an assistant position in college.
The NBA world happens to know a thing or two about the game.

An Iowa guy with passion for the University and state. Yes, I'm sure he would do an excellent job and be an excellent fit

No where near to 40 years ago. The guy isn’t even 50 yet.
