Sadulaev v Taylor 92kg

The old Sadulaev would have been too big, strong and explosive given that DT is essentially wrestling up a weight. But is Sadulaev the same wrestler? Haven't seen him for a while and he looked mortal in 2023. Would be a great match to watch.

To be fair, Taz made Snyder look very mortal as well.
Sadulaev didn't look that impressive in his wrestle-off against Bagaev either. I think he's definitely on the downslope of his career at this point. Time comes for us all.

he's got a lot of rust. Still looks stupid powerful and athletic. And he'll be in much better shape come worlds.

That's probably what some Russians say about Kyle Snyder who is also 28

LOL.

I doubt it. Yianni once had an interesting conversation with the russians when he was at cadet worlds. had a conversation about age-cheating and steroids, and they basically said to him, "doesn't your country want you to win?"

Just a completely different world.

It's pretty common knowledge the Russians are a few years older than they say. Plus, 28 can be past his prime. Snyder hasn't exactly been lighting the world on fire the last couple years.

So all the Russian wrestlers are 3+ years older than they claim? It's pretty common knowledge some Americans acuse the Russians of being older than they are. That much is true.

28 can be past your prime. But not by that much.

If they wrestled at age-level events - its going to be pretty close to 100%. Just a completely different value system.

I guess I will have to take your word for it. Close to 100% is wild

I remember the guy that Lee wrestled in Paris at Junior Worlds. Bro had to have a wife, kids and a mortgage.

I would agree but there aren't that many miles on him. Usually only wrestles the qualifier and worlds/olympics. Think this will be f**. As much as I respect Sadulaev, I am going to go with DT just because he's going up and don't know how cutting 11 extra pounds will affect the Russian.

Totally understand why everyone is talking about Taylor v Sadulaev. Don't overlook Ghasempour, though. I could see him playing spoiler and keeping the matchup of Olympic champs from happening.

Will be very curious to see how this one is seeded.

Hard to tell how seriously either guy is training for this. If they're both close to their last world titles I'd have to lean sadulaev. Not sure if he's really that serious about this though

I think if Taylor is in form this is going to be a great match. Taylor is no slouch when he's in form. Sadulaev hasn't faced anyone like him in recent years. Snyder is not the tactician Taylor is.
The tilt would have to be Sadulaev but Taylor throws a whole different style into the mix. Taylor's length combined with his skills are a different animal. Throw in the folkstyle that Taylor brings, crazy match.
Brooks was a heartbeat away from the finals at the Olympics.
He would have beaten Yaz in the finals given Yazs physical condition.
Taylor was totally out of shape vs Brooks.
Sadulaev has never faced Yaz.
This is a total unknown if it goes down.
Match of the decade.

Two-time Olympic gold medalist and five-time world champion Abdulrashid Sadulaev returned to the mats and winning a wrestle-off against Alan Bagaev to make the 2024 World Team at 92 kg Sadulaev will now compete at the 2024 Senior World Championships in Tirana, Albania taking place from October 28-31

Match was 10-7 Sadulaev..

If Taylor is training like a madman for the last hooray this will be epic!
