Sarah Palin's last pregnancy was a hoax?

Earlier today I wanted to confirm the name of Palin's youngest child, so I did a quick search and was surprised to see multiple articles suggesting that Trig Palin may not have been born by Sarah. A lot of weird conspiracy stuff, however, the circumstances of the last few months of the "pregnancy", are undeniably odd.
Why would Palin have pretended to carry a child? I understand if she was carrying a child that was the product of an affair that she'd suppress images of the pregnancy until she had her husband Todd onboard for a cover up to protect her political career. I get that, but why a fake pregnancy? Was it a first pregnancy for Bristol and mom wanted to protect her?

Don't you remember that fiasco? It was supposedly Bristol's and Sarah faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her daughter. George Soros and his Moveon.org folks were all over pushing that narrative. Amazed at the number of mush for brains that still to this day buy that.

Don't remember a word about it. There was more than enough to disagree with politically when Palin was concerned, I don't know why a fake pregnancy would come up.
What about the odd behavior at the end of the pregnancy? Flying back from Texas after amniotic fluid was already leaking rather than seeking medical attention? That does seem weird. Why the hassle over producing a birth certificate?
Conspiracies do not have to make sense or have documentation to be interesting.

Look how much grief Bristol got for being knocked up twice. It's one thing for the parent to preach abstinence, it's another is the child doesn't believe in it.

It wouldn't surprise me if Bristol has had three children. Instead of Sarah saying "my daughter screwed up, and we don't condone premarital sex" she possibly went the route of a coverup, which is worse in my opinion.

That was one of the first attacks on Palin. One problem was that it would have meant Bristol had two kids about 5 months apart, which would be unusual, even for a prolific breeder. The doctor who delivered Trig issued a statement debunking the story.

And--the child has Down's syndrome. Older mothers have a greater chance of having a child with this than the young ones.

It was never a mainstream media story, but any political junkie knew about it. It was pretty well debunked right away.

That's why this story made me go...meh. The incidence of Down's in pregnancies after 40 is something like twelve times that of teens to twenty.
