I always thought of this movie as cheesy dog crap with a few good scenes.

However…I was watching some of these scenes the other day and the comments were describing the movie as underrated, a masterpiece, Pacino’s greatest performances, etc. Complete 180 from how I view it. Pacino was almost a parody in my mind.

So, I ask the esteemed HORT critics, thumbs up, or down?

I'll give it a sideways thumb ranking. If it's on, I'll watch it for a couple of scenes, but I usually get annoyed with it before those scenes come on. Not great, not terrible.

It's one of those movies you watch and think "Why the f*** am I still watching this?" and yet, you watch the whole thing.

The ending, after he kills Manny, is some of the worst cinema in history. That gunfight at his mansion is so hilariously bad it's just stupid.

It’s a movie set in Miami that was filmed in LA.

It derailed Pacino’s career for almost a decade. He went from the Godfather 2 to Dick Tracy.

I never understood the love that a lot tend to give it. A few good moments, but very cheesy. Comically bad at times to include Pacino's terrible Cuban accent.

I like it, thought it was an entertaining movie.

Scarface might have been enjoyable the first time I watched it. But it really is not a great movie. Poor writing, poor storyline, unrealistic scenarios, etc.

To those of you that love it, good for you.

Casino is based on a factual scenario. Last time I was in Vegas, there was this old bartender that witnessed a loft of what went down in Casino..

He said former Senator Reid was one of the most corrupt people in the State back then.

I've only seen parts.

My favorite movie ever is Goodfellas..

Man, I'll mail you my copy of Heat. Just make sure you have a good sound system for the first hour to fully enjoy it.

EDIT: those that have seen it, know which scene I'm talking about. The audio of shootout in downtown LA were intense.

Watching it with a bunch of people stoned in college when it came out…phenomenal! Watching it straight years later….still some great scenes, but not the same at all.
