Scouting Report Florida St

I watched Florida State's last game, a win against Ohio 90-81. Very up tempo team with good athletes that like to run, drive, and slash. Can hit the 3. A lot of one-on-one stuff on offense. They like to press and are tough on guarding inbound plays. Several seven footers, the starter Boris Bojanovsky #15 can shoot jumpers.

Although all 3 are very good, Florida state plays 2 freshman and 1 RS Sophomore. Their inexperience shows up on defense and not enough passing (at times), a little too much shake-n-bake. They do run some motion offense with picks.
Iowa will be tested again on transition defense. This may be a game where Iowa's experience will help to make a difference.

We will leave the perimeter open at times.

If you guys shoot high % from 3 and we shoot low, you win. If not, it will be a track meet and we have a lot of natural scorers. We have legit NBA talent, but it's young and inexperienced.

Y'all are 7.5 favorites. Y'all shouldn't loose to us. We play horrific in ACC/BIG10 challenges. Vegas sees the stars aligning for y'all to win. Plus y'all are doing a "blackout", our young guys will step up for sure - but we simply don't win in this annual conf vs conf tournament. We will probably make that big goofy big man y'all have start dunking on us like crazy while he head bobs back down the floor. Leaving him with his only good game of the season. Then we go on a run and make the NCAAT... Only to lose in one of the play-in games to FAMU or some stuff like that.

I like Iowa's chances, if we stay out of foul trouble. FSU has some tremendous individual talent, but Hawks experience playing together should be the deciding factor.

It will be just fun to watch Iowa play Florida State. we learn something new and creative from each of the players when they compete. How bout them Hawkeyes,!,,,,,,

I have a feeling the pace will be a bit frantic like Dayton. Hopefully their athletes don't blow by us like UD did at times.

I think there was miscommunication in the Dayton game. Needed somebody to stop the dribbler bringing it up. I think that is correctable.

Officiating was a big problem in the Dayton game. Hawks should have played better D but the officiating was making that very difficult.

This team appears built to shoot a lot of 3s. Need to make more or get the ball inside, although it doesn't appear that we have any reliable inside scorers yet.
