# Sea of Red - Foster Farms Bowl

USC has actually done something in recent memory. Sure, they broke rules to do it.... UCLA, on the other hand, is supposed to be good as every season begins, and then shows itself to be anywhere from mediocre to bad.

They're never considered to be *that* good. USC has routinely started in the Top 10 in the post-Caroll era, only to lose 4+ games.

Yes, last time I can recall UCLA having anything close to national prominence in football Troy Aikman was QBing.

They've actually been pretty historically terrible, outside of their run in the '80s under Donahue, when you factor in the huge resource advantages that they *should* have.

Riley needs to be fired. Horrible play calls. How about running Tommy on a bootleg on first down or zone read?

Well if ucla watched film of the Illinois game, they know they have Nebby right where they want them.

Nebraska coaches did everything they could to keep UCLA in this game. If they stuck with the run on every down this would have been a 20+ point win.

Didn't Nebby just make history? First team ever to win their bowl game and still finish the season with a losing record.

San Jose State won their bowl last week to improve to 6-7. All the pressure is on Minnesota now for us 5-7'ers.

That's how they say they have "sellouts" at home too. There were a TON of open seats for the Iowa game but they don't show up on TV because they are all painted red. Bastards.

Once the game started, there really weren't many open seats at all.

Also, you know what a "sellout" is, right? All of the tickets sold by the university were sold before game time (before the season began actually). Tickets available were from individuals, scalpers, and ticket brokers.

Yes, of course I know what a "sellout" is. I also know what a full stadium is. Yours was not full. Not even close.

The stands (east side?) weren't full in the upper levels. There were many seats open on the opposite side as well that never filled in. There were enough seats in the north endzone that when the jerk behind me started heckling my 10 year old, we were able to move a few rows forward without having to walk in the aisles to do so. In fact, I'd have said our section was 50% full at best.

People were getting Runza's.

If Iowa had continued its recent slide with a 5-7 season, then was invited to the Who Cares Bowl sponsored by Tyson of Perry, based on APR -- would you go?

Especially ONE day after Christmas... Let's face it a lot of these bowl games are made for programming for ESPN.

Yup. If Minny keeps it together all the 5-7 bowl teams will win their bowls. Sumpin' to think about.

The Iowa game was "sold out" long before it was ever played.
