I live in a town half the size of South Bend. Our mayor and his cronies are so giddy they got a late afternoon flight to Chicago they had to subsidize they are still stroking each other off. In reality it's a flight in an unaffiliated startup air carrier that doesn't codeshare with any real airlines and it's a flight time that arrives too late in the evening to reasonably connect anywhere without an overnight layover. Meanwhile this shitty airline that mostly flies overnight air cargo to mountain towns is giddy that they can squeeze out an extra daily flight out of an Erj-145 that otherwise would be sitting at ORD overnight because it wouldn't be profitable to operate it anywhere if they weren't getting subsidized to fly it.

There's a transportation project overseen by a mayor of less than major metro area. You think that guy should be transportation secretary or the nation? Not saying the congressman nominated is automatically qualified, but I do know being mayor of South Bend Indiana doesn't either. So if you want to rip this guy look at what we had.
Yeah, honestly, BootyJudge's experience as mayor of South Bend is far less relevant IMO that his experience with Mckinsey...though that's a low bar, particularly given that i despise McKinsey.

He served 4 terms in congress following a few years as a DA. Trump probably grabbed him up quickly before the Dems nominated him for President.
How many terms of anything did Trump have before running for prez in 1916? Oh yeah he had a TV show

OK...So, more along the lines of Obama then. Who was a community organizer, a state senator, a US Senator for 2 years then a President.
Honestly, based solely from a resume standpoint I think I’d say Harris was more qualified than Obama was.

And following that thought, Biden is probably the most politically qualified president we've ever had,.. Hence qualifications don't mean shit...

Whiny little Libtards still butt hurt over there loss.
It’s gonna be an awful four years for some of you radicals and more than likely eight years and 12 years, it’s looking very good in the future. They’ll never be a radical Libtard President again and thank God for that. You’re only hope is a moderate Democrat.

Is our children learning?

Re:McKinsey - any particular division?

The classic, "I didn't vote for him, but show up in every thread to defend him" response.
Who the fvck am I defending? If you weren’t full of shit you’d be able to show receipts. Iv’e posted in 50 threads this week alone. Since you claim I show up and defend him in every one of them, shouldn’t be hard to post 25…or how about ONE?

Classic, “I’m angry that I’m unable to think for myself so everyone who does is MAGA!” Fred.

You align yourself with these people. Let that f'ing sinking in. JFC
Well, I tried to get admitted into “Queers for Palestine”, but then I realized that it would be foolish to stump for people that would rather behead me than befriend me (if I were actually gay).

Couldn’t quite get there with the late-term abortion crowd, either.

Wasn’t feeling too good about shaving my head and cutting off family due to a vote for someone who occupies a position for about 5% of my life.

So I guess I’m left slumming it with a message board poster who acts like an idiot sometimes.

Yep, dem senators should just vote “present”. Let the GOP own these picks and then let them own the aftermath.

The toughest lessons are the most effective.
So strange.

Trump is Hitler. Democracy will end….turns into let Trump put whoever he wants in the cabinet.

Mind blowing.

Almost as if all that dictator/end of democracy stuff was bullshit 😁

be honest…of the people nominated thus far, how many of them would have been on your short list?

If/when they get confirmed, many are going to be agents of chaos for Trump. One of them wrote the chapter for project 2025 for the department he got nominated to run.

Democrats alone have very few tools to check Trump if republicans don’t push back and tell him to send him a serious list of nominees.

keep in mind

unlike last time, the trump admin actually does need to get transportation funding legislation done...he can't just keep promising to do it without ever getting it done. iija runs out in about 18 months (end of ffy 2026)

this pick does matter. would be nice to have someone relatively qualified like Sec Chao (who he now hates because of course)

oh well.

The Democrats don't have the numbers to stop any of his cabinet selections. It's entirely up to the MAGA Party. If they choose badly and those picks fail, who (besides you) can/will blame the left?

I like Rubio and Bergum.

The rest have issues 😂

It’s ok to admit the Hitler stuff was hyperbole.

Point is if D’s actually thought democracy was ending and he was Hitler….they’d put up stiffer resistance.

It was hyperbolic ridiculousness that they never believed. That much is painfully obvious.

It’s ok to admit.

Look at stuff Trump has said vs speeches Hitler made. You want to say it was exaggerated, go ahead. But it’s equally dishonest to say there aren’t similarities.

He's already talking about running for a 3rd term and they are actively trying to find ways to circumvent the Constitution to get his cabinet nominees approved and you are wondering why Democrats were worried? FFS, he's in the middle of trying to do it now and he isn't even the President yet.

I guess you guys are true believers.
