Pete Hegserh as Defense Secretary

That is not how they are being used here. They are putting words in the guys mouth that he never said nor implied.

It is how they're being used and the subject nodded in agreement and pointed at the man that literally said "personal integrity". It's tacit approval and would therefore be subtext.

How so?

People are criticizing the fact that he's not a general or admiral but throughout history we have had several Sec Defs without military experience.
He has no experience running any organization, let alone running the largest military in the world. I want someone who has been mentored to some degree. He has not. This is a horrible idea and not just because I don't like Trump. He's simply not remotely close to being qualified.

I sure hope these folks are serious thinkers—though, honestly, that shouldn't be a high bar to clear. Trump seems to be focused on rewarding personal loyalty rather than qualifications. There’s no way to argue there aren’t hundreds more qualified than Hegseth for the role.
With hundreds of positions to fill and literally hundreds of agencies, sub-agencies and the conflicting rules and regulations to deal with ... he cannot afford to have anyone cowboy it. Loyalty to him and fealty to his ideas and program are at a premium during this round of appointments. His program has to be part of the belief system of each appointee. Ideas and especially the daring to try them is going to be critical to the success of these appointees.

They still haven't learned anything from last week and I'm loving every second of their tantrum here. Between these appointments, winning the trifecta last week and now cnn and msnbc downsizing and being sold off... this is a LOT of winning for a 1 week period!

X is killing liberal media which is why they constantly attack Elon & X. I predicted exactly this to happen in Nov/Dec 2022 and it has come to pass.

Trump can nominate Morans to most positions.

Just please don’t screw up DOD, AG, and DNI

And you believe this guy is the guy? Why? He was a Captain in the NG and a Fox News commentator. How does that qualify him one of the most important cabinet positions?

So how many of those had no political experience?

Northern, I think it does prove a point. All hires for the position have had 1 of 2 things, been a career military, or been a senator or congressman, and serving on some of the highest committees. It isn't someone who was a reservist and currently commentates on Fox. He is so underqualified compared to any other candidate in the last 100 years. This is the point.

Actually, the legend that is Winston Churchill can be attributed largely to the fact that he was the writer of his own history. I personally think his performance was subpar throughout his career, but since it was a political position for the most part, he had his hands tied the first time around.

I am more of a believer in Pete than I am in Mr. Churchill's legend.
In a world full of dumb opinions this might be one of the dumbest.

Churchill literally led his country through the largest war in the history of the world. Pete hosts a cable news TV show.

If you want a younger guy who has a few introductory type credentials and is not beholden to the Deep State ... with some military experience, there are not many options. I doubt that he was ever going to advance much above the rank of Major had he stayed in military ... so catching him on the arc of a strong learning curve and throwing in an advanced degree sounds to be best for all concerned.

(Outspoken junior officers seem to stop being promoted at about the Lt. Colonial level.)

The calls were originally at the request of Zelenskyy as an intermediary. So what?

“A person familiar with the situation”

Anonymous source.

“The person didn’t provide additional details about the frequency of the calls, when they occurred or their content.”

Wow riveting stuff.

“The Journal reported Thursday, citing multiple current and former officials in the U.S., Europe and Russia.”

More anonymous sources. Wow.

The calls were surely monitored by DOD / FBI / NSA and nothing ever came from them.

Elon Musk passes a yearly background check for his ongoing National Security clearance.

You use little more than innuendo to reach poor conclusions. That’s a you problem.

Winston was a mass murdering POS. He’d fit in well in today’s war-craving world (That is if he wasn’t already busy burning in Hell).

He didn't even hear him say it. That's why he said it twice and he talked over him both times. It's not what he was saying.

Yet he was actually qualified in something. Lol this is glorious
Unless his bio is wrong, he majored in history and literature. He’s probably more qualified to do Randi Weingarten’s job than she is. Head of the DOT? Ehhh….

The US wouldn’t even need a DOD if they’d just adopt a Swiss-style approach to their role in the world. 🤷‍♂️

He did kill a lot of Nazis, didn't he?
Must really really piss you off...
He was responsible for the deaths of a ‘lot of Nazis’, this is true.

He also had his hands in doing everything possible to make sure WW 1 and WW 2 went off without a hitch and resisted every attempt at diplomatic solutions.

As well as being involved in the mass deaths of thousands of Iranians, Iraqis, Poles and Indians, not to mention the blood on his hands from millions of German, French and Russian civilians.

The one thing he wasn’t responsible for was standing in the way of ‘Uncle Joe’ Stalin and his murderous Communist regime.

Your knowledge of history is every bit as pathetic as your knowledge of science.
