Semi-Iowa Related: fever exhibition at carver ticket prices. Holy moly.

I thought the university hadn't released these for sale yet? How are they on the secondary market already?
That is a fantastic question which I do not have the answer to. I can only surmise that the University is only being allotted a portion of the tickets, and the other tickets were allotted to either the Fever or Brazil to sell.

Reading further, ProHoops Sports & Events must control the tickets: "Should tickets for the preseason game, hosted by ProHoops Sports & Events, become available to the general public, updates will be shared via Fever social media channels (X / Facebook / Instagram). Broadcast information will also be available at a later date."

I'm pretty sure the original release said ticket sales would by handled by the University of Iowa, and I've seen nothing regarding the game or tickets to it on Iowa's website beyond that originial release.

But if the Fever are coming to town to fleece Iowa fans, that would not be a great move and might lead me to say something like "Screw the WNBA. Go back under your rock." Or something along those lines. I'll work on the wording.

That is what happened, and the Iowa website says information will come out mid Feb still.

Heard from a friend that ticket office confirmed season ticket holders would have access, but did not say anything on how many/limits nor when would be available….

Vivid seats and stub hub have tickets. I’m not sure how they could sell tickets they don’t have. That being said, the prices you are seeing are secondary market prices, not what Iowa or the fever are charging. These are prices fans are apparently willing to pay, not what the W is willing to charge.

UI gotta keep tapping into that CC22 money

Maybe a picture might work!

Neighbor has season tickets with another couple that are IClub donors. They talked to ticket office and were told priority would be:

I Club members (donation dependent?)
Fever season ticket holders
Iowa season ticket holders.

I can't confirm any of this, but we should know for sure soon since Iowa said mid-February release of details.

I don't like this idea since opportunity for Fever fans to scoop up tix for resale on secondary market.

They must also be releasing blocks of tickets directly to vivid, stubhub, etc. because otherwise, I do not see how they could be selling tickets they do not yet have.

Dude, of course they’re coming to Carver to fleece the CC fans from Iowa. Why the hell else would they have it here? I don’t even see why that would be a question or even wrong per se? It brings exposure to Iowa & Iowa WBB and the WNBA and gives Iowa fans a closer venue. I’m anticipating standing room only tickets.

It marketing 101 & the tickets will bring what they bring 🤷‍♂️

The bigger question is how many will Carver draw vs LSU/Chicago and will tickets be similar & what will viewership be for both?

Anyone can list tickets for sale that they don't have. This happens all the time. Notice nearly all the seats are towards the top. There's a reason for this.

The seller is hoping someone spends $800 now. Then as the game approaches, they'll buy the seats from stubhub or seatgeek for $200. If they can't find the exact seats they sold (row 36), they'll give the buyer better seats. Stubhub and seatgeek guarantee you'll get the seats you ordered OR BETTER seats.

Nobody has tickets now. It's likely 1 person with those listings.

My guess is there will be very little--if any--available to the general public. If people who have access (season holders) have any brains, they'd buy as many as they can even if they have no intention of going, knowing they can sell them for a good chunk.

I'm glad that airlines don't do this. Oh, wait...

So, available through UI IF made available to the general public?
