Sammy's match was the perfect example of "sometimes it's better to be lucky than good." I thought he was toast when Parker hoisted him into the air. Great SA and quick reaction!

I agree. But these same guys will be chirping if retherford beats Sorensen and nickel beats brooks even though they wouldn't be choke jobs

I would ALMOST wager Iowa doesn't win a wrestling natl title as long as Cael is at PSU. They won't get enough horses to ever compete with that talent. Pennsylvania is LOADED with hs talent, and Cael gets whatever the hell he wants.

Totally not a choke job. We are wrestling fine. Just not enough studs. It would be interesting to know what Kem gameplan was. We need to recruit even better. Need to make sure we have holes at least filled next year. If Stoll not recovered, Holloway to heavy, who is 197?
Can't deny what PSU has done. They also have 5x the amount of hs wrestlers and more a rich recruiting territory. He couldn't get it done at ISU which is why he left. I realize PSU is like the new kid on the block, but until you win nine in a row or 15 in 20 years, nothing really to say. But congrats on your five titles.
Just disappointed and p'd off. I've since stepped back from the ledge. Lol

Love your confidence, but I remember people saying similar things a few years ago. PSU was supposed to 'come back down to Earth' after Taylor and Ruth graduated or when Cael no longer had the advantage of the extra guys who followed him from ISU.
Unfortunately, they appear to have reloaded without missing a beat, still winning when it matters most and still scoring plenty of bonus points. And it's not just that they win, it's how they win. Smart, aggressive. Makes me sad.

So far Iowa is performing very good. A win by Meyer would have been sweet. A lot left to happen tonight though. Hawks are only favored in one of the semis. Meyer will have a tough match to make AA.
