Sheryl Swoopes (and other Crazy Women) with some incredible takes

I am guessing she was seething & pulling her fake hair out
You know, the Seattle Storm announcers are very clear about their bias, stating that they announce that way to appease their fans. "From a fan perspective." From Awful Announcing:

“It’s different when you’re a hometown announcer, you are covering the team through the eyes of the fans of your franchise,” added Woodward. “I always want to give kudos and props to an opposing player when they deserve it. There’s no question. But it’s different than being on a national broadcast where you are impartial and staying right down the middle. You prepare through the Storm lens, doing a hometown broadcast of what they need to do to slow down Caitlin or Cameron or Angel or Napheesa Collier tonight.”

At least they're up front about it.

I have no problem with hometown announcers being biased, Hell I grew up listening to Jim Zabel.

Your entitiled to think what you want. I'm figuring a person who was a college AA and pro HOF and then a coach knows a hell of a lot more about the game then some guy on a message board. You obviously. and some others obviously feel differently, which says a lot about the people who post on social media or websites. From my understanding her main failure as a coach was the way she dealt with people, which makes sense considering how she's handled herself during this last year in the media. That doesn't mean she doesn't know the game better then you or me. To think otherwise seems ignorant.
I played and coached as well, and I know enough about the game to know Caitlin Clark is light years ahead of Angel Reese…so it’s pretty obvious I know more than she does. If she honestly feels Reese is better than she knows very little about the game…if she thinks Clark is better but won’t admit it, then she should resign her position.

Sheryl Swoopes' MVP season (in 2002, her 6th WNBA season) vs. Caitlin Clark's rookie year:

Look, I'm not arguing that people don't hate Caitlyn Clark. They do, and it's annoying, disappointing and petty. It's just a shame how quick everyone is to play the race card here. Do I think race and sexual identity play a part her? Maybe a tad, but not much.

The source of the hate is how underpaid and underexposed the old guard are, and how much they resent this brash, insanely confident girl who has achieved more at 22 than they have in a lifetime.

Everyone yelling racism! strips the conversation of it's nuance and reveals just how the insecure "anti-woke" movement has hijacked the national conversation by injecting race into literally every topic (without irony). It's disappointing.
I would say the W players were lesser paid and lesser exposed. Under implies they deserved more. Many people in the W superstructure forget they are entertainers, not scientists and doctors. They have been paid what has been demanded by the market. Caitlin changed the market.

i can handle that, what I can’t stand is when they blare obnoxiously loud crap when we’re (yes, I said we) on offense. That actually affects game play.

Bahahaha. This is all hilarious and she has nobody to blame but herself

Good for her. Swoopes has this weird arrogance that she thinks she's above being called out and questioned. Awesome to see a fellow WNBA legend doing just that. Very petty and childish of SS to be mad at her for telling her facts matter.

Bravo Nancy! So nice to see someone other than Caitlin acting like an adult in all of this. The way she approached Swoopes about it is how it should be done but you rarely see it anymore: in private, with facts, and coming from a good place to help the person.

Even when calling people out is justified, I get tired of seeing it posted online first with the intent to damage and humiliate someone rather than discussing your issue with them in private. In some instances, that’s more damaging than what the actual offense was in the first place. I hope adults and kids take note of how Nancy went about this with Sheryl.

Nancy tried to help Sheryl clean up the mess Sheryl created; Sheryl ignored Nancy. Now Sheryl won't talk to her.

She Crazy! LOL

It's a wonder the WNBA has lasted as long as it has. These women are something else. Meanwhile, CC keeps quiet and does her thing and cashes those Nike, State Farm, Gatorade, Wilson, etc checks.

Nancy made her move... Good for her. Goes public with Stephen A after being super complementative of CC in the last game. I'm guessing the work environment SS brings to the Dallas broadcasting team is just as toxic as her time in Loyola... and Nancy has probably had enough it. Made Swoopes look like an idiot and probably advanced the shit out of her broadcasting career at the same time. Frickin hilarious.

Man, I wish I was half as smart as you are.

Somehow I knew the "I played and coached" deal was coming. Pull your head out. The women was an AA and HOF player and a coach. But YOU obviously know more (your statement) because you played at what level and coached where? This internet shit is hilarious. Her issue has NOTHING to do with what she knows about basketball. The fact that this is the hill your choosing to die on says it all. Her issue CLEARLY is her jealousy/ hatred whatever of Clark. It has nothing to do with her "honestly thinking Reese is the better player". Anyone should be able to see that. Reese is simply the most accessible pawn or prop for the agenda she is pushing. In all honesty Reese has been dragged into this mess every bit as much as Clark has by Swoopes and others like her. Thinking that she's not aware of who is the better player is very shortsighted and has nothing to do with why she keeps up with this narrative.
