Officiating in the B1G has been calling a lot more of the hand checking, which MSU has always used to bully other teams. It is impacting their defense a lot. They also have much less talented guards (calling Valentine a 3) than they have had in a long time. Mike owns Tum Tum and Sapp knows how to handle his old buddy Forbes. I think it is good that Iowa got to play MSU early, because Izzo almost always gets his team on a roll late in the season. I don't think MSU's guards are good enough for them to be more than a top 20 team, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Izzo make some changes to his line up. I have never seen a MSU team play worse defense than what they played against Iowa, but the Hawks had a lot to do with that. God I love to watch Izzo lose.
