Should candidates be required to disclose...

I wouldn't be bothered by either one but it should be on the voters to hold candidates feet to the fire about releasing all of the important information.

Yes,.. but I think it it should be a requirement of the sponsoring party..

Yes to tax returns and financial obligations . But we would never have a president who would look out for themselves over the betterment of the country would we ?

How about stress tests? Can we get them all on the treadmill during debates and make them trot while hooked up to an ekg?

I would like this. No requirement but both are disclosed to some independent 3rd party. If a candidate makes a claim that is a lie based on the records, the 3rd party is required to release the record to refute the claim.

I don't think that you could rely on there for sure being such a thing. ^^

IMO, definitely no on the medical records and I am neutral on the financial records. I don't see the financial records as being something required, but a "nice to have" type of thing.

Yeah, I also assumed that would be a problem. A person like Trump will argue to the grave that it wasnt a lie and the 3rd party is biased against him. But, since this is just an internet question, I decided I didnt care and still said it.

Depends is the candidate in the party I support or the other one?
If in my party then no. If in the other party then yes.

No, I don't think so for either. However, refusal to supply them should then be weighted appropriately in your vote, if it matters to you.

Yes and no.

The only reason for the yes on financial records is I think the public is entitled to know if a President is pushing a decision or policy that will help them financially.

On health, no. If they can do they job, they will. If they are sick, they won’t be able to do the job and, if things get really bad, we’ve always got the 25th A.

their tax returns?
How about their medical records?
Discuss.....

Can anyone give a reason why candidates shouldn't release their tax/financial information. This would be an emphatic yes if it weren't for the saps covering for the criminal in the WH.

I think we've learned our lesson allowing exploitation of the office for financial gain. Well, some have. Some of us predicted it.

Politicians start scrubing their tax returns years before they take office, so if you believe those tax returns are real, your very gullible. Those of you that believe that Trump is violating the emoluments clause, he is not. If you start enforcing this crap, you will never see a businessman run for office, you will get professional swamp members running.

We have a professional swamp member in the White House right now, and it’s getting swampier with each passing day.

Separate your loyalties. A candidate with existing financial entanglements, or resources and patterns that could imply compromising situations should that candidate become president, and put our Nation's security at risk must be considered.

This is not that as extreme as it sounds on the surface. Financial leverage is a powerful inducement to a person driven by wealth. But other devices are available and in the playbook of deviant enemies, making a person with serious character issues a perfect target.

So far, republicans over the democrats 45 - 0. That may change when a Democrat gets elected president.
