Should Citizens have to pass the basic Civics and Government test used for citizenship to Vote?

Should passing the test be a requirement to vote?

Great idea! Just like Lincoln said....of the people who can read, by the people who can read, for the people who can read

How basic? like 10 questions they can do on their computer like a driving test that they can do as many times as they want until they pass? Then sure.

Anything more than that, then no.

Not necessarily but there are potential issues. The biggest is the constitution says that every citizen over 18 gets the right to vote. . . not every citizen who can pass a test gets the right to vote.
The Constitution doesn't say that. It says they are eligible to vote, and limits reasons why they can't be prohibited from voting. There's a difference.

None germane to this conversation. It would all require a Constitutional ammendment, which isn't likely in a garbage can filled with garbage.

I'm for expanding / protecting access to the electorate. My party wins on ideas. I'll leave restricting the vote for the benefit of one party to you guys.
You think voter ID laws are voter suppression so I wouldn’t expect you to think otherwise.

Step 1 you don't claim an election is rigged months out before votes are cast and then subsequently lead an insurrection on the Capitol after you lose. What idiot citizen would do or say these things?!?! Oh
What does that have to do with the subject of the thread?

No, there shouldn't be a test to vote. What there should be are laws that prevent "news" organizations and talking heads from lying about candidates, policies, laws being passed, etc.

I’m curious - are you using the term educated loosely??
It’s a simple question with a simple answer. One of the largest spreads in polling is between college educated women and non college educated men. You want to take a stab at which group votes for Harris and Trump?
