It's an unfortunate coincidence for Warren. It would be a horrible move for him if at any point he goes to visit his son, particularly at a football weekend.

I do feel for the guy. I can't imagine worse circumstances to become the commissioner of a major athletic conference. He hasn't covered himself in glory but I'm not sure there's a lot he could have done differently. Until last week I would have said he'd done about as well as could be expected. But to go to all the trouble of rolling out a new football schedule and then to almost immediately back away from that remains mind-boggling to me.

It's not that the university presidents voted to cancel the season, it's the timing of it, and that so few of them took the time to talk to coaches/athletic directors/players about it, and then Warren completely knuckled under.
