I picked up a couple of single game tickets earlier this week, and when I checked back today, there were still plenty of seats available for every game and plenty of good seats. The potential for an embarrassing number of empty seats in Kinnick this year is real. No other way to spin it. And the only way to prevent it, as we all know, is to win early and often...and by putting big numbers on the scoreboard wouldn't hurt, either.

The thing is, as fed up as I am with the KF regime, I'm hoping for the players' sake that they can overcome Captain Conservative and take advantage of this advantageous schedule.

I hope CJ will do what comes naturally and not let the staff fence him in. Great QBs throw interceptions. Ask any of 'em, or just look it up. So I want CJ slingin' it, and I hope to see a legitimate RB running up the field and away from people instead of a good-hearted FB jogging laterally into the waiting arms of the defense.

For some crazy reason--maybe it's the CJ factor--I see the Hawks having a great year despite KF. Win, and they will come. Lose, and it'll look and feel like 1973 in Kinnick.
