So . . . How Do You Like the New HROT Format?

The two best things with respect to mobile are the ability to jump pages and the fact that quoting is finally reined in. It used to be that when a thread ran more than 50 posts you had to scroll down to the bottom to see the most recent posts, which sometimes took a long time due to people quoting 10 or more sequential replies in their posts. Many times I just gave up in a thread when it went much more than 50 posts.

My only complaint with the new format is that if my screen autorotates while I'm typing a post, for some reason it clears everything I have typed up to that point.

Yeah, that's definitely an improvement. Makes it somewhat harder if you DO want to quote several comments, but you can do it. And since you can see the other posts while you compose your own reply and since there's a little arrow that lets you jump to an earlier comment in the conversation you are responding to, the tradeoff is overwhelmingly positive.

I just got a new phone and cannot read any topics on forums, whether it be on the football, basketball, or OT board. It says "Unable to access content. You must be an Ultimate Ticket subscriber to view this message." Then I try logging in and it won't let me, always reverting back to that old message. I did not have a problem with my old phone (same one, samsung galaxy s4 mini). Does anybody have a clue why this would be the case?

It's ok but not an overall improvement from my standpoint. The previous mobile version had some shortcomings but loaded fast and was fatfinger proof. The new format has way too many live links for a phone screen. It would be very helpful if they would keep only thread topic as a URL on the topics page. Right now, it's way too easy to inadvertently select a username or time or whatever...

I like it for the most part. But the light grey font for the username makes it really tough to figure out who is talking unless they have an avatar. Otherwise it becomes a sea of yellow circles and you have to work too hard to follow the conversation.

So EVERYONE ADD AN AVATAR IF YOU WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW WHO YOU ARE!

It's pretty good with most stuff, but I don't like the limited number of winkies and don't like that I haven't been able to figure out how to edit thread titles.

All I know is that the star-rating clenched-fist control freak who used to frequent HROT must have had a stroke by this point. LOL. I'll give him a shout out.

"Hey, freak. Does Obamacare pay for your blood pressure meds?"

The best part is that every previous screename that was blacklisted has been miraculously un-banned.

Every. Single. One.
