Well Boeing's layoffs on the Space and Artemis programs are because their programs are not getting it done. Their space capsule made it up after a year or two of delays and then it was unsafe to bring the crew down. And their booster iirc is having problems or at least way behind schedule. That company has just had a bunch of problems.

The one thing about SpaceX is they got into the private launch vehicle race early and hired a ton of the best NASA people.
