Wow, I should have been hanging out on their message board all season, I had no clue. I can't imagine how awful their fans must be about their "terrible" coaches.

Anybody have any insight there? I mean "real" insight the the typical tripe like, too predictable, ran when they should have passed, passed when they should have run, we suck, he sucks, everyone needs fired...

Well I didn't have to read their board to know that. That's just what fams do and they are some of the worst. They didn't like Lloyd car because he didn't win enough then they didn't like Rich/Rod and they didn't like Brady Hoke...eventually that will happen to us!

Right I forgot. But here's the thing nobody does.... and that's the nature of being a fan.

I have said for years everybody should have to be in the military for a year, everybody should have to wait tables for at least 6 months everyone should to be in a service field, fire department/nurse/police officer for six months. Then theyd have a better basis for how difficult it is to deal with people.

I've just this moment realized Coach needs to be added to that list! Wed have a lot less shithead complainers in the world if everyone had to Coach for a season or two.

Interesting....I know a lot of highly intelligent people, God-fearing people who work hard for a living. Some are highly successful & many already are working in the service industry. I have never ever, gotten one person that didn't nod their head knowingly and with sincerity.

So that tells you one of two things; either they didn't have the courage to say out loud "that's stupid" or most of them have better empathy skills and cognitive thinking skills and they quickly understood the analogy. Those are tough jobs, thankless jobs, most of them don't get paid near enough & they are easy to bitch about and they are most generally unappreciated. The high-level coaches make enough. But here's the thing angry fans don't pick and choose who they yell and scream at. They treat high school coaches and 12-year-old soccer coaches just the same....

I can't remember for sure if you're a regular critic of this coaching staff but if you are I definitely understand why you wouldn't get it.

I'd be surprised if there are any coaches in the country that has met or exceeded fan expectations over a 5 year period.

Coaching is really difficult, whether it's CF or kids league soccer. Instructing a lot of young people and then getting them to execute what you want on the field at game speed. Don't forget, there are hard working coaches and players on the other side of the field too, trying to meet expectations.

I do understand you guys are just having a little fun here but on the off chance you aren't...And I don't want to be disrespectful to muskie because clearly he's a passionate dude. But in no way, shape or form do we express ourselves in a similar manner. I'm not gonna flesh that out too far because I don't wanna come off wrong, but I itemize things pretty distinctively.

And my good buddy "wasn't drunk" definitely wouldn't want to get in a battle of wits with me like he so often likes to say to the other chap. Quite frankly it's humorous to me that you're even "Paling" up because he isn't much like you either ...outside of being super super negative & boorish, he waxes on poetically ad nauseam, worse than me. But as we all know misery does love company.

Now if per chance, and that's a big "if" you truly believe that...then man do I feel for you guys. Because clearly you aren't near as bright as you think you are. Michigan fans are weary of "we're getting closer", and want more wins next year or they're gonna turn on Hairball. Many are angry, and not beating OSU yet is for many, appalling. The lack of QB development is also baffling them.


Posters here should look around at other fan bases when they can during any particular season. If you think Iowa fans take their football too seriously...we're minor league by comparison to most schools.

One near universal line of thought is that every offensive coordinator is an idiot at calling plays.

The Iowa/OSU game threads were...indescribable is about the only way I can say it. Oklahoma's against ISU had an equal degree of hilarity to it as well. You'd have sworn in both cases the world was coming to an end. Both games...they started out as "we're winning by 40", then as the first half developed, "this ain't looking good, but we're still going to win, but just by 20". The 3rd quarter, "OK guys, any time now". 4th quarter, FIRE EVERYBODY.

I highly encourage posters to get out and see the world of other fan bases. Honestly, we ain't got it so bad. Some schools, college football really is life or death to them.

michigan had 2 qb get injured this year and the third guy was really bad. yes every fan base is about the same
