Softball Pitchers

Micaela Whitney is no longer on the roster. Incoming recruit Koral Smith has been removed from the roster. As of now we have 1 pitcher. Anyone have any insight why they are not on the roster?

I wonder if crankermo who has posted before and has a daughter coming to Iowa has any info on this situation. Crankermo are you out there??

PS - the roster I found online doesn't include any incoming freshmen and still includes the graduated seniors. It doesn't show Whitney though.

The roster on Hawkeyesports.com has the incoming freshmen, they are the unnumbered players under Holly Hoffman.

I honestly have no idea what happened with Koral.

She was listed a few weeks ago. A team cannot make it through the year with one pitcher. Hopefully there will be a transfer that pops up. Otherwise I think Kurtz pitched some, but was not recruited as a pitcher.

Well, I guess it doesn't matter why Smith isn't coming but I would like to know the reason. Even if she was coming we should have been recruiting another pitcher since I am not sure that either Starkenburg or Smith are the caliber it takes to compete in the BIG.

I'm curious the reason also.

We have added a new player to the roster. A JUCO transfer. She's listed as P/UT but only threw 6 innings last year.

I don't care how good a pitcher is we can not make it through the season with one pitcher. I think Kurtz used to pitch, but probably not B1G caliber.

Could be a looooooooong season
