not sure what you mean by 'good word'. my initial post in this thread explain why i thought he was silly to run with it.

that being said, i can certainly see why, all things considered, it played out the way it did and why people were interested in it.

i think the only other time i 'put in a good word' for him was when i said there's probably some legs to the Richie Figs thing.

I don't think we need to burn Willie at Mineo's stake. Mineo is a toolbag, and this played right into his preferred narrative. I'll be honest, it got me and I didn't even realize it started with Mineo, because of the situation at 174/184 in general has been tense (for me as a fan). This was a thing many people would comment on, not just Mineo, he just played it to the absolute most Mineo way possible, which sucks, but I would expect most non-journalists (which Mineo is definitely not) to present it without fact checking it. Mineo still sucks balls though.

Willie didn't defend Mineo - he called him for what he is. An Iowa rabble-rouser with nothing good to say about the program.

And it IS interesting. I received a couple texts myself before Mineo tweeted, but confirmed that it was just an error. Iowa for both good and bad reasons is the center of wrestling, and will have the most eyes on it, and every little thing will be scrutinized.

A big nothing burger in the end, but i get the panic that ensued considering the situation.
