Soldier Salute Lineup

The Hawks lose Parco, Teemer, and Buchanan next year. That is going to be hard to replace. This is the best team Iowa has had since 2000-2002. Nothing is promised tomorrow so make the most of today imo.

Horrible take. The 2019-2020 team had THREE #1 seeds in addition to a #2 and a #3. They also had one seed each 5-8. Their lowest seed out of 10 weights was a #11. This team isn’t touching that. Not even close.

For one, Brands is out of eligibility after this year. Irrelevant.

For two, we aren’t winning NCAAs next year either.

The fight is for second, just like it has been for most of the last decade plus.
Nelson didn’t come back to ride pine, but if gets legit beat out I get it. PK we would be burning a year, which would probably turn into 2 years next year. I would like Gabe getting experience in the starting line up each year he is eligible. Most importantly is Angelo’s individual career here, which you didn’t address. You know it would be good this year if he just AA’ed, but you know he will be a strong contender for a championship each year starting next year. It’s nice true frosh can get 5 attached competitions now. Worked well for Gabe last year.er Your probably right about next years team maybe not being quite as good. With only 2 true freshman at 197 next year, it will again be a big priority in the portal. Not sure what veteran will be available. This year I thought Buchanan would be great, but didn’t think it would happen. This team came together late in the summer. If we get Rocky Elam and Richie Figs it would be a great start. Getting Ferrari and Gabe both in the line up would help make up for the loss of the 3rd stud transfer. I have hope for Block after a year of experience and 1-2 weight class jumps. Taylor is losing some stud transfers also next year.

Dont forgot we are losing one of our better wrestlers to Rutgers as well.

I think there's almost no shot PK gets put in over Nelson Brands. Former 5th placer, and....man, that's family. I'm sure TnT WANT to be unbiased, but...

And that's without even knowing if bias is required. Our PK sample this year is limited and weak opponents, Nelson having wrestled the better guys and a 5th place finish in his quiver.
Well PK is showing up and Nelson is not. At this point it’s up to PK. Win and keep winning, and he’ll leave the coaches no choice.

I really would like an answer to why Nelson is not wrestling. I know it’s not for me to know but as a fan it’s a bit frustrating to not see a potential matchup with Nelson.
As for losing Buch, Parco and Teemer I honestly think we will be fine at 149 and or 157, and I really like the true freshman we “stole” from ASU.

He’s been dinged up is busting his butt to get back on the mat.

Here’s the entry list
No McCenelly/Berge at 184
Osmany at 133
Merrill/Sinclair/Salazar at 197
No Gable
Daniel Cardenas is registered at 157 and 174
