It is awesome Fran is starting to get the recruits he has been targeting. The basketball team has a lot of talent and appears to have talent going forward.

Anyway on topic, it great to see Wieskamp rated highly. I haven't really watched anything on him (not sure how much is out there) since he's 2 years away, but hopefully he sticks around that ranking.
I know a lot of people keep saying it, but I'm really excited for our future with our current freshmen, the 2016 class, and Wieskamp/Connor already committed beyond that. Really looking good on paper and a lot to be excited about.

Agreed, hopefully with the Cook commit and having guys like Wieskamp/Connor already verbal early means good things for Fran and staff. Hopefully things are just starting to snowball with recruiting...
Don't know how recruiting can immediately snowball much more with only one scholly not currently spoken for through 2018. I think Fran will go for quality with that one as he keeps in touch with other targets anticipating any transfer that may occur. Beyond that, the best Iowa can do recruiting-wise is to win and scout for 2019 for guys to go with Patrick.
Yea, guess I should say that with an * noting that not much more can be done in the immediate unless people transfer. But hopefully it's a sign that more higher rated guys will take Iowa and Fran serious. Obviously Fran has been able to identify talent, so hopefully this and on the court results lead to more guys actually signing.
Transfers, decommits...nowadays, every team has them.
Just because you may have limited openings doesn't mean you don't keep looking.
I hate ISU and do not know you, but I do not like you.......its a healthy rival hatred....I hope ISU goes 0-12 in football every year, hope their BBall program implodes, etc......nothing personal, its just that I feel the athletic programs are embarrassing to the wonderful state of Iowa....great engineering and vet programs though

This is a Hawkeye Board. To expect there to be no smack talk about a rival here is unrealistic and to have rivals complain about it here is pretty childish. Frankly, I would expect better from a poster who's been around since Methusalah like Legend. I'm figuring he had a bad day. But I will say this. When people go overboard with smack talk, they will eventually have their comeuppance. That's one of the interesting things about sports.

I think everyone probably expects some smack talk on a message board, it's when JWR and his alter ego I4cy spew endless crap in every thread they find (including those having noting to do with ISU) that it's over the top and tends to make those wanting to have normal conversation regarding the thread topic just move on.
LOL I realize that is not going to be the case, but hypothetically I hope for winless seasons every year and in every sport.

Their basketball team has been the pride of the state for the past 3-4 years.

agree with u....look it ISU BB has had some terrific teams & players under Hoiberg...none of us are stupid enough not to realize that....but Hoiberg is gone...he left..I still had ISU fans that I know who refused to believe their Mayor would leave them...well he did just that.
some new ISU posters are here because of the success Hoiberg had...they would not be otherwise. .... Prohm might or might not continue that success...time will tell. If he falters these same new ISU posters will disappear from this Hawkeye board.

I've said many times...Hoiberg was highly successful with the players he brought in....but pride of the state other 10 mile radias..talk about posting nonsense..
I like the direction Fran has taken the Iowa program (as do many other Hawkeye fans) ... your agenda is to post on a Hawkeye board just how highly ranked the visitors were for ISU recently...Im sure you took a lot of pride in doing so.
ISU is the pride of the state... That's why Iowa players are choosing to play for Iowa over ISU. Hmm....
I think Northern Iowa fans would have a complaint about that ten mile radius thing as well. 
I am perfectly willing to repeat the effort of Lymon Dillon and dig furrows across Iowa. In his case, it was to create a path from Dubuque to Iowa City for settlers to follow. I will do the same and mark out territories, or boundaries, whereas Clone, Panther and Hawkeye fans are allowed to tread.
But I have a couple of stipulations.
First. I pick the territories. Don't worry, Cyclone fans, I will allow you Ames, in fact the entire county in which it is located. And Northern Iowa, you can be assured that your border/boundary will enjoy at least the limits of your home county as well. Most of the rest, of course will be as it has always been, The Hawkeye State!
Second. I expect more than the $3.00 per mile that Dillon was paid for his efforts. Much more.
Now, let's take a vote. How many would accept this as a proper deal? Three divisions within the state. State and UNI get their fair share as I've described, we Hawkeyes get the rest. Anyone crosses the line? They are fair game for a good ruffing up!
We can settle my fees after my plan is approved. And that just leaves what we should do with Clone fans on a board called Hawkeye Report!

Do not get me wrong their hoops team has been successful, fun to watch, and Freddy did a great job. However, how many Iowans were even on the team or even recruited or how many players were on the team that were not castaways or transfers? THis transfer rule is being exploited and not used for what it was inteded for. Not that it is necessarily a bad thing in all aspects, just something that I do not agree with. It also should be of concern to all ISU fans that they can not even keep their Alum's that participated in their programs to stick around (Cale and Freddie) I understand the NBA thing with Freddie, but ISU is not a destination job, not even for Alums. If ISU ever does get a successful coach the likelyhood of them staying is slim to none bc anybody outside of ISU fans realizes their city and athletic programs are a joke. I know I am biased b/c I hate ISU but that is my opinion of ISU. I know some of you are like "I root for all Iowa teams" well good for you, but I think that is BS too. You will never hear a Duke fan say "Yay NC won" or an OSU fan say "boy I hope Michigan wins tonight" What is bad for ISU, Wisc, Nebby, etc is good for Iowa

You are very confused about the radius of IC. I am 120 miles away and ISU is not the pride of this area. Although, even as an Iowa fan, I do root for ISU when not playing the Hawks.
I grew up in Dubuque. There are more UNI fans than ISU fans there, and there are way more Iowa fans than either. There may be more ISU fans than Iowa fans in Ames, but the further you get from it the lower the density of ISU fans there are, with Des Moines (20 miles away?) having more Iowa fans than ISU fans.
you think Hoiberg was the most popular person in the state...that's YOU THINK it...doesn't mean you KNOW others do...oh ISU fans such as yourself sure...but I would suggest the larger group of Iowa fans think pretty highly of what Fran has accomplished....classic tit for tat.
Pretty sure that was done by the Washington post a year or two ago based on the number of Facebook likes the schools get. Which is actually a pretty good indicator IMO. A few cyclones disagreed of course.
I heard a few isu fans express embarrassment after DeJean Jones threw a chair at Fred during halftime of their debilitating loss to UAB in the Ncaa tourney. The way those pouting players left the court most certainly must have been embarrassing. Stories that the team trashed their locker room were unsubstantiated as far as I know. But embarrassing if true. Fred wasted no time getting the heck out of dodge after that.
