What's the logic of Fleckster constantly fair catching the KOs that don't make the end zone.

That's a chicken shit level of confidence in your special team's play, imo.

guaranteed starting position at the 25. That's about it. Even some of the Goopher fans booed it.

BTW, the official "paid attendance" was 48,199. I'd guess about 35,000 showed up. Lots of empty seats on the Gopher home side between the 30 yard lines. Lots. Their students showed up loud and toasty...but other than that it was pretty weak.

The guy kicked a field goal vs wiscy last year on 3rd down with time to run 2 plays!
Nothing new ;)

I’m not against that move. A guaranteed start at the 25 or a likely chance of a return short of the 25 or a penalty pinning the receiving team deep

Low risk low reward. You get the ball on the 25 and your skill players aren't getting murdered on every return.

Nothing to do with logic. It's the ELITE approach to kick returning. Fleck is on another level.

The dude is goofy. His post game interview made you wonder if his morning meds had worn off.

That was pretty dumb. I'll give him credit ..he's a hell of a BSer. You can understand why recruits could be duped.

I interpret it more as a vote of "no confidence " towards special teams.

yes he is. I listened and couldn't stop for a while. On one hand, saying that his team is super young everywhere, but then in the next sentence saying there's no excuse it's his job to get them ready. Which is it? Why say 5,000 times we're so young we're improving. Just say we're improving but we weren't good enough to beat Iowa today. Leave it at that.

I think his act is already wearing thin with a portion of the fan base. Last year, after failing to even match the previously fired coach in victories... he coined the phrase... "Year Zero". The cupboard was far from bare when he arrived, yet he managed to run off several kids who were contributors to the bowl team they had.

Coining some cute "catch phrase" got him some media time, but it's ultimately what the Gophs do on the field that will determine how quickly the AD will be in the market for another HC.

He made several glaring bad calls on Saturday. He's just fortunate that the Twin Cities is a pro town. The apathy up North is one reason good recruits will look elsewhere in the future, imo.
