Something Positive From the Past

So, I know Bob Sanders nomination to the HOF has been discussed. I wanted to give my thoughts......I will start by saying that he just didn't have enough full healthy seasons to be elected. But, the fact that he was nominated in the first place says a lot about him and his impact on pro football.......Iowa fans should be proud of the fact that he was nominated. My thought about it is this..........I remember the latter part 2006 season when Bob Sanders was out with injury......and that defense wasn't very good (actually bad).......Then, Bob Sanders came back for the playoffs and, honestly, I have never seen one player change the way an entire defense plays. But, his presence and leadership alone transformed that defense into a tough, stingy defense. It's not very often you see that. I honestly believe that Peyton Manning can thank B. Sanders for that championship. As great as Peyton was, there was NO WAY he was winning a SB without the "bob sanders" effect on the d.......He had the same effect on Iowa's defense in transforming them from a B1G bottom feeder to a top team and bowl winner........He was truly a once in a generation player...........
