I’m really in the middle of the road on how good they are, I’ve had a couple discussions with @littlez @kceasthawk @citizenHawk others about the SEC/BIG.

It’s looking like USC & UCLA are going to be #1 seeds and it’s just hard for to comprehend without doing the natural comparisons.

I’m assuming it might have been a different game out in LA, but in no way shape or form were those flukes games.

If they are @that@ good and the BIG as well 🤷‍♂️ there is no reason we can’t reasonably have big expectations still.

And I actually do, but Im still not convinced either will even make the final 4. UCLA w/best chance in my mind. And I’ll make another homer statement, w/the right seeding. I probably like Iowa chances to the elite 8 better than anyone else, but those 2.

I’m not impressed at all w/tOSU, Maryland, meh?! Though they are long…maybe Illinois is better than I’ve given them credit for ??

Thoughts ??

As far as Iowa is concerned, they will probably need confidence and momentum from the Big Ten tournament to give them a chance. An early exit from the first tournament might kill it quick in the second.
Don't think they can sneak up on anyone.

UCLA and USC are going to fare really well until they hit the Elite 8 games of the big tournament, but I'd pencil them in that far for sure. Gets tough for anyone to win those games.

I’d agree that neither the UCLA or USC games were flukes. It helps to play in front of 15K on Clark induction day and then the crazy energy of the UCLA game. That USC game was a turning point in the season it looks like. UCLA is the overall number 1 seed right now. Betts is a handful, they’re big and they have experience at guard and smother you on defense. SC just kind of overwhelms you with athleticism but they’re not a great shooting team. If both UCLA and USC shoot it they obviously can cut down the nets. If the Big Ten gets 12-13 teams, which is 1/5th of the entire dance we should probably get 3-4 other teams in the sweet 16 just by sheer numbers. If we get a 6 seed we certainly have that capability in my opinion.

I’ve watched some of the better women’s teams. They are all very beatable by many teams that will get into the NCAA tournament. I’ve seen Tennessee look absolutely amazing, then a week later look like ass against Kentucky. This year is a tossup and it wouldn’t surprise me if a 7 or 8 loss team wins it.

That’s not happening.

I think this is very true. I believe the SEC is the best conference and we are #2. After that it's all a crap shoot. ACC is probably 3rd but I know the Big East is dead last of the power conferences.

Edit- not sure a 7 loss team can win it but could get to the elite 8.

I don’t think the Big East is above the Ivy, MVC, A-10, hell maybe the summit. Creighton would have stiff competition winning any of those leagues at the top

Big Ten is actually the highest rated conference. SEC narrowly behind. They’ve got 3 teams that could win it, Texas, S Carolina and LSU, and we’ve got SC and UCLA. We’re projected for 12-13 teams. But only 2 real contenders.

Big East is 5th. After the Power 4 conferences in women’s bball it drops off the table. UConn being number 1 in the net obviously helps. Creighton 31. Bottom of the Big East is bad.

Very, very bad….Creighton would be a dog on a neutral court to at least 12, Big 10 teams

The days of Tennessee or UConn, South Carolina sitting stacked alone at their peak and then everybody else maybe waning. AAU and training programs are advancing the development of young girls, not just high school but pre high school. The talent pool for college is getting bigger and better. The separation between the blue bloods and the next tier isn’t as wide. Hot night got a shot, over 4 games not so much

But it’s still why I’d like to have seen Michigan St land that number 4 recruit in the country yesterday over S Carolina or UConn. Hawks were able to make back to back nattys with a once in a lifetime player. While there’s now 8-10 teams that can win it all this year (maybe) whennS Carolina continues to grab 5 5 star players every year it’s tough for the rest.

I'd be shocked if anyone out of the top 8 schools is in the final 4. These schools just stack talent. Very difficult to play teams that go deep with the stars.

Don't always get the allure for players, but that gravity has endured for these programs.

No doubt. Iowa was an anomaly solely because of CC22. No way we'd have been to two Final 4's let alone play for two titles without a star of her magnitude. Hopefully we continue to build on her gravity in recruiting, and can stake a place as a top 5-10 team going forward.
