Other thread got hijacked and turned into a debate about taking 2 yo to the games.

The number of sold out sections stands at 6 currently. It's flipped back and forth some as I think the University has been honoring refunds therefore "releasing" small amounts back into the market from those previously sold out sections.

It's the middle 3 on each side that are sold out and then very, very limited amounts of singles all the way to the corners. The main sections behind the hoops look like they've seen some increase from yesterday but probably a good 2,500 remain from what I can see on the interactive map.

With the rest of today and walk-up sales, I'm still guessing an energetic crowd of 13,500 or so show up.

What are the chances of taking my family of five and buying good tickets outside when we get there?

Are you okay with sitting in the mid-upper levels behind hoops (baselines)?

If so, I don't think you'll have an issue.

I bought a few and plan to flip them outside of Carver tonight. I am hoping for a good crowd.
As a hometown hawkeye fan i find it disappointing that fans are buying more than they can use for themselves.

The reason i say this is you take away great seat options for those who are buying in advance. You essentially are taking seats away from families who do not normally have a chance to have a economical option to sit in a great area.

Not posting this to be negative but just to possibly help us and others with the other 2 home games as well.

Well, why didn't that family buy tickets earlier? You make a fair point, but this isn't a regular season OOC or even lower demand conference game, it's a postseason (yes NIT) game where Iowa is a top seed. It's a high demand game. You shouldn't expect to be able to get tickets last minute for more than 2 together.

I was surprised by the low (22) number of tickets on stubhub. Good to see.

Very good. Guy outside sold me regular ticket for a toddler for $5 a few games back. We've highjacked a thread.

Based on their job they may not be able to log online during work hours. Then once home we still have our duties as parents such as ensuring the kids do homework, eat their food, not beat up on siblings. So coordinating the drive/flight & cost of the overall trip for food and lodging can be taxing and then there is the procrastination factor.

The original message that i was trying to provide is leave the available tickets for those who do purchase in advance so the family can get the best seat available. Instead of profiting for your own personal gain.

I agree and who does this? And why?

Because scalpers who bought season tickets to jack up the price on Hawk fans for a profit had first dibs on the tickets.

I had extra tickets for tonight and sold for face. I didn't want any extra for them.

Sorry there dmoore. I like to make money. I also have Iowa St season tickets because their ticket market is hot and I always make money. I would get UNI and Drake season tickets if I thought it would be worth my time.

If someone is willing to pay for the ticket at my price, then I dont see the problem.

hopefully he gets burnt :)

I am stunned at the number of people I know that are going to this game! Many people who have NOT been to a regular season game are going!!! I want to take my wife and kids, but the little one is sick. Gonna be cheering at the TV though!!!!

GO HAWKS!!!

SOLD! A little cold out there, but I got a decent pay out. Plus I kept two tickets to see them in action myself!
Hope you feel really good about being a scumbag and going out of your way to screw some fans. Wish you would have been stuck with all the extras when people would have went inside and paid less. Did you lie and tell them the tickets were at half court too?

Haha. Not feeling bad at all. Look at it this way. I did the dirty work in getting the tickets. They just randomly came to me to buy them.

Again, if they felt they were getting screwed, then they can just as easily not buy them. If no one buys on the secondary market, then it's a non-issue.

Or....if local/university officials didn't want it happening, then I couldn't have sold them right outside of Carver.

LOL. Youre a poor.

And while never enforced, scalping is illegal in Iowa
Are you sure? I would think it SHOULD be illegal to scoop them up from the box office with the intent to sell at a higher price. Frankly, it's a bit jerky to do so. BUT it is definitely not illegal to buy/resell on the second hand market in Iowa. Don't think everyone makes the distinction.

Sorry dude. Jerky or not, I will continue to do it. The people I sell to have never complained about the price.

If you have a problem with it, go tell every guy outside outside of Kinnick next fall who is trying to sell a ticket to F Off and see where that gets you.

Looking like its going to be a packed house on Sunday. As of right now less than 600 tickets available from the Ticket Office & 87 on Stubhub
