Sunday night on BTN. The story of Alex and Eli. Looks like an amazing tribute as well as a highlight to a great ambassador for the sport and UofI. He is a very special young man that has been tested on and off the mat and come out on top. Can’t wait to watch this!

I tired to catch this but couldn't find it. Does anybody know if this will be re-aired or where I could find it to watch it?

Hopefully they can work in a blurb about staying off the cell phone when driving. It was tragic, but also was fortunate that only one person lost their life that day.

Wonder if both teams are sitting somewhere together watching after the dual.

That was an incredible tribute. I definitely had tears several times. Sometimes we forget during these team battles, that wrestlers and everybody who is part of the wrestling community has a special bond. Of course, I'll be rooting for Cenzo and PSU to come out on top, but, if Alex Marinelli were to win a national championship, there would definitely be a part of me that is extremely happy for him.

Didn’t see this mentioned... is this known or speculation?

To me it sounded like tired driving, but didn’t really allude to anything as his girlfriend said he wasn’t feeling the greatest and then they were off the road and he over corrected too much. Doesn’t matter, life lost too soon, no reason to shine a bad light on it.

I had kind of a rough day because of some family situations so I probably should not have watched that at this time..... With that said, great job by BTN with this.

Hope you’re okay. It definitely was tough to watch, but it’s nice to see some of these people behind the scenes and see what they’re really like. The Stickley’s seem like great people.

They presented it as tired driving, but his girlfriend told police he was showing her cell phone videos while driving.

Again, it is a very sad and tragic story. Feel horrible for all involved. But put down your cell phone when behind the wheel. For you, for your family, and for the families of others out on the road. Deaths like this can be prevented.

Great documentary. Stickley’s seem like a great family. Curious what side of the family Jordan’s are related to? Guessing the mother. Beautiful home and property.

The linked article seems clear, that the girlfriend said that Stickley was showing her a video on his phone when he went off the road. I think Claykenny's comment is just fine. He didn't bash anyone, he just suggested that there be a warning to all to go along with the story. I agree.

He could have also veered left and crossed into oncoming traffic, etc. That could have easily meant more tragedy for more people.

a couple of things, talking about how alex was probably the more talented wrestler, but how he looked up to Eli. When Mo broke down sitting at the table.I did notice the blue bird got a mention.take your public service announcement and shove it.

I noticed former Hawkeye basketball player, Jarrod Uthoff was part of the wedding, apparently he is Eli and Moriah’s cousin. Had no idea.

According to the internet Jim Jordan the congressman was high school sweethearts with the Stickley brothers sister whom they introduced. Their daughter is married to Uthoff.

I noticed the Jesus Trained T-shirt that Alex wears also in Eli's room. I assume the Stickley family may have been a big part of his faith development. Prayers and well wishes for them and thanks to BTN for such an awesome tribute. This is a powerful affirmation for our sport.

Can you explain what you mean by blue bird / public service announcement? I don't get it.
