Seriously, someone please tell Brands to have the recruits' names announced over the loudspeaker, i.e. "Please give a Hawkeye welcome to the recruits who are in attendance today: [name by name]. Let's show them how much we want them to be Hawks!" Do NOT underestimate the value of that.
I love the idea, and can definitely see the value in that. I only wonder though if that would be a recruiting violation? It seems a little iffy, especially with some kids still JR's and SO's.
Let's just say that he's coming to Penn State no doubt about it. You guys at Iowa are stuck back in the days when you were the national power. You guys aren't anymore and a lot of recruits know that. Spencer is going to Penn state and I can't wait till he commits!
I'm guessing the odds are high PSU will try to copy this event next season.

Made the Cadet World team this year at 50 kg (I think that is the weight) and is really good friends with Lee. One of the reasons the Lee was rumored to go up to wrestle 54 kg at Cadets (the tournament he lost to Daton Fix at) was because he wanted to make the team with Gavin.
Pretty sure he is also on track to be a 4xPA state champ
Hard for me to envision Happel at 157, but I can see Troy there. Bring in the blue chips and the team will sort itself out.

He's ranked number 1 in the country at his weight, and is a young guns kid. He's already made multiple trips to Iowa City and has always had the Hawkeyes at or near the top of his list. He's only a sophomore and probably isn't a super recruit like Lee, but he is a stud and would be a great get.
You have been laying in the weeds for 3 years to make the BOLD prediction that Spencer Lee is going to go to PSU. I can't believe you are staking the reputation of this handle on such a bold prediction. This dude reeks of amalone.
Hard to tell at this point who's serious with comments like this and who isn't. But any of this talk about publicly acknowledging a recruit's achievements or presence at the meet is a huge NCAA violation and will not happen.
No doubt in my mind that Cael will do whatever he can to break it. By that I mean paying and busing homeless into the stadium. His quote from PSU's media day says it all. 'I Hope It's Cold" not only makes him look like a dhead, it really shows how much he cares about "growing the sport".

Brands did this thing right. had the 2 most storied programs in the country. Charged $10 a ticket. Had it 8 hours ahead of the football game so that there is no doubt this is a wrestling crowd.
