Tom and Kevin basically telling the media they are worthless sacks of crap and to do some actual investigative journalism and stop being lazy
It seems that many have lost sight of the fact that if the athlete's hadn't broken the rules none of this conversation would be happening. Every single one of them knew they were breaking rules and didn't care for some odd reason.
Yea, but very immature and misdirected anger on their part. I assume most of the sports writers in that room are not "investigative journalists". They cover sporting events. They don't have assistants and a budget to go digging around back alleys for intel, and pretty sure they can't issue subpoenas. And if Tom thought digging up info was that important/easy, then maybe he (the athlete's well-paid uncle/coach) or Terry (well-paid father) should have hired investigators/lawyers and been out front with all the dirt they uncovered. Love me some TnT, but lazy/immature response from him.Tom and Kevin basically telling the media they are worthless sacks of crap and to do some actual investigative journalism and stop being lazy
****ing idiotIt seems that many have lost sight of the fact that if the athlete's hadn't broken the rules none of this conversation would be happening. Every single one of them knew they were breaking rules and didn't care for some odd reason.
Tom said a long time ago the NCAA are on record saying this is a major problem across the country but basically Iowa and Iowa state are the sacrificial lambs. Why did no other schools in Iowa get investigated illegally I might add. So many questions that need answers. Problem is NCAA has made up their mind and I am pretty sure they will stick to it. I like Harbaugh as a coach and look what he has done and gotten away with. But that’s money thing because they won it all for the conference.
It can all be true.Did we though? F off douchebag.

Unlike most idiots in this country, I value highly the 4th Amendment and I'm retired law enforcement. Yes the athletes did wrong and have admitted it but that does not excuse the apparent violation of their Constitutional Rights. How many of you are comfortable with the justice system ignoring your God given rights just to snag a few people doing things they shouldn't be doing?
Sending a message to the media in a press conference is not misdirected.Yea, but very immature and misdirected anger on their part. No, but his "message" directed at those sports writers was. I'm glad 1 challenged him on it, after which he pretended he wasn't badmouthing them.Sending a message to the media in a press conference is not misdirected.

"Smug Penn State fan gets bitch-slapped on Iowa board. News at 11."It seems that many have lost sight of the fact that if the athlete's hadn't broken the rules none of this conversation would be happening. Every single one of them knew they were breaking rules and didn't care for some odd reason.

Pic of reporter!Explains why most of the interesting stuff breaks on forums and social media these days.
I dated a reporter many years ago when in my early twenties. She had no budget...barely any pay...and she chased down crap like this because it was what a reporter did. It's not just writing about a game or press conference anyone can view on their own.
so they should have just ignored the story?**** the Iowa media. They had no issue plastering the student athletes faces all over the place, making them look like criminals during this entire process
a lot of people seem to think everyone who works in the media have the exact same skills, abilities, and knowledgeI love Tom, and this whole thing was a massive miscarriage of justice, but chastising the media here is misguided and a little naive. Just my opinion.
Everyone that broke/violated the law should be held accountable. It seems that many have lost sight of the fact that if the athlete's hadn't broken the rules none of this conversation would be happening. Every single one of them knew they were breaking rules and didn't care for some odd reason.
My sarcasm-meter is broken. Please explain.a lot of people seem to think everyone who works in the media have the exact same skills, abilities, and knowledge
if you can attend a press conference to ask tom brands questions, why can't you also single-handedly expose the innerworkings of a state-run criminal investigation?
You tell 'em tough guy.Everyone that broke/violated the law should be held accountable.
Or I believe that gambling by athletes on college sports is prohibited by the law and can be a huge problem. Wise up.You tell 'em tough guy.
You act like they committed some God-awful crime that deserves the death penalty or something.
Either you have never made a mistake in your life, or you got some harsh punishment for something and want everyone else to pay the price also??
But, it is NOT prohibited by law. It is prohibited by the NCAA, which a MAJOR difference...Or I believe that gambling by athletes on college sports is prohibited by the law and can be a huge problem. Wise up.
You are fudging. It is NCAA law. But, it is NOT prohibited by law. It is prohibited by the NCAA, which a MAJOR difference...
You wise up. Always want to lecture and scold.Or I believe that gambling by athletes on college sports is prohibited by the law and can be a huge problem. Wise up.
NCAA in no way enforces the law. They enforce rules and regulations for participation in collegiate sports. So, we may be getting into semantic a bit, but it was perfectly LEGAL for those over the required age limit to place those wagers. However, it was against the NCAA rules to do so and they would then govern what, if any, punishments would be levied on their ability to continue to participate in said athletics...You are fudging. It is NCAA law.t
Agreed. Sadly, this looks much more like a revenge plot than a redemption story...I'm not sure how this would have any impact on the suspensions? It doesn't change the fact that the NCAA knows they broke the rules.
2 different skill setsMy sarcasm-meter is broken. Please explain.
if they get some money from the state it’s better than nothing i guess.Agreed. Sadly, this looks much more like a revenge plot than a redemption story...
