Stanley is a stud

I'm rewatching this game fellas and I'm telling you we have a good one here. Announcers labeled him "slick". 6-5, 240, with a f*ing rocket launcher and "slick" is a good thing. He is figuring this thing out and seemed way more comfortable this week.
Well, if the 'announcers' said it, that's all I need to know...;)

I believe the criteria for diagnosing a cognitive disability is a little more in-depth than this, and Coach Gable would not be pleased with these comments from someone associating himself with his monicker. Don't believe me? Ask him.
You believe wrong. Stay in Muscatine. Gable is into winning which is why he doesn’t know you.

The clock was still running after he went out of bounds. It doesn't stop when someone runs out of bounds until the game clock is under 2 minutes.

Almost. Clock stops until ball is set. So, his going out of bounds probably cost them all of 10 seconds not running off the clock; not nearly as bad as the commentators suggested. If it had been a different situation, where Iowa desperately needed every second possible to run off the clock with < 2 minutes left, then yeah, going out of bounds would have been a major f-up.

He doesn't know you either and would smack your face if he heard you say 'retarded'. I've met him enough to know that. Winning has nothing to do with what you were talking about.

I know it is some higher level stuff but that was reference. I personally would use a different word. If your going to try to be a smart a$$, be smart.

Reference definition: use of a source of information in order to ascertain something

The biggest collection of homers ever on this thread. He played well against a below average Minnesota. He has a LONG ways to go before NFL will be calling his name on draft weekend.

I’ve seen a lot of QB come thru here, other B1G QBs and plenty of Seminole QBs. I know a good one when i see it. I’m gonna let off the gas on this one, but F-pumpin’ the brakes — kid’s got “it” and he’s doing not doing it with NFL talent at WR (kudos to Coach Copeland).

Not really disagreeing with you, Nole, but just remember that being old and having a lot of football viewing under your belt doesn't really make you an accomplished QB talent scout. Otherwise my Dad would be one of the most sought-after individuals in sports.

Reminds me more of phillip rivers. I get a kick when people rag on him for throwing nothing but fastballs. Worked pretty good for brett farve. Might be a little detrimental in college but it will serve him well at the next level. Oh, and heres a novel idea, maybe our receivers should go ahead and catch the damn ball!
That TD throw wasn’t a fastball.

His pocket awareness was fantastic yesterday. Yes, he still had his moments with an iffy throw, but it was better. His deep balls are getting better and look pretty at times. Too bad that ISM missed that one, it was placed perfectly.
That was strange. It seemed like he didn't even see it until it was almost in his face. From watching him, he is one that has shown he will go up and get the ball, not wait for it to get into him.

Pffffffft. Whatever. I was a fourth string QB/CB, and I knew Jameis Winston was gonna be big in his first game his freshman year. And I called Tom Brady. Don’t confuse me and your dad — I’m the real deal. ;)

The thing I have noticed as he has gotten experience is that he is feeling pressure and moving in the pocket better, he still has a tendency to glance to find were the rusher is located, that said he has really come a long way in a short period of time in regard to pocket awareness.

Edit, just saw your post shizzle, not trying to copy....

— I’m the real deal. ;)

Because you say so.

I hope you're right on Stanley, but your claim that you have a more valuable opinion than others because you're old and have supposedly guessed right a few times has to be taken with a grain of salt.

Agreed. And ISM has thrown his body around going up for the ball before. Maybe it was against Pen State when he went up and got flipped to his back but still caught the ball?

Could be the best pro QB prospect we've ever had. Barring injury I really think he will be. Been watching Iowa football since 1990 and he's the most physically gifted I've seen. Reminds of Matt Rodgers with a better arm.

He is right.

I see more Chuck Long than Ben Rothlisberger. Makes better decisions than Roth, isn’t nearly as careless. But he does have a stronger arm than Long.

I hope he can keep growing as a QB and doesn't get Ferentzed as other promising QBs have in the past.

Just put this in perspective... 2-3 weeks ago people wondered if Weigers should start. Stanley has 1 quality win in his career (Iowa State). He has not shown a consistent long ball. This is the same type of conversation ISU had after their OK win about Lanning. It is premature and would be laughed at by any other team's message board.

Doesn't he have 2 quality wins in his career (Iowa State/Ohio State)? Penn State was pretty good as well.

Look at the date of the post before making a comment genius. He had Iowa State at that time. Penn State he didn't do much but that was more the play calling than his ability.

He was very impressive in this game and excited to see where his career takes him but I still want to see more out of him (he still has areas that can be improved i.e. audibles). Sam Darnold was proclaimed as the number one draft pick QB starting the season, his stock has dropped. Josh Allen was considered a top 5 QB and his stock has dropped. Stanley's moving the right direction but he has to continue to improve and not be a Drew Tate and hit a brick wall in his development.
