Starting to get a bad feeling about IU game....

No, just look at the bubble, teams ahead and behind us, they are dropping like flies. We are in with 1 win.
Unlikely that simply beating indy would be enough. None of the bracketologists that I've seen have Iowa among their in the field or last 4 in. A few have them in the work to do category among several teams.

Good thing they are not on the committee. If K state and Illini lose and we beat IU, we are in.

IU back in Bubble talk somehow but they got a ton to play for and for Crean himself. We beat them in 2OT's at home. IU has so much firepower on offense. I keep hearing everyone saying we are going to win with not much people concerned, hopefully team isn't over confident as well. I felt good about the last 4 games going in not so much about this one. I am also ok with the NIT if they do lose and you won't find me on the meltdown fire Fran threads post game like we'll see.
Worrying about something you have no control over isn't healthy.

Indiana is, indeed, the team that ought to be worried. Just watched Indiana at Iowa replay on BTN. Iowa digs a 17-4 hole, trails by 8 with four minutes left, takes the lead for the first time with 2 minutes left, wins easily in OT.

Iowa missed a TON of open shots in that game...from distance AND from point blank range. Indiana sloppy with the ball and undisciplined.

Iowa pulls away in the last half and wins comfortably in DC tomorrow night. So much for the talented Hoosiers ... On to Wisconsin.

I was having a bad feeling about this game as well. I wasn't sure Iowa was going to be able to handle the "pressure" and what not. We are a young squad playing in our first conference tournament.

The positive thing is (no one has played in this venue) so its new to everyone. I think Iowa will have to come out and play better than the first meeting. If they can play smart and force the action vs IU, I think they will be okay. If Indiana gets hot from 3pt land then it could be trouble. They are the most athletic team in the conference. But their guards can get sped up and play out of control.

What Iowa needs is 3-4 guys get into double figures (Cook, Boahnnon, JOk, Baer). We also need someone who has been in the tournament setting before to step up (Jok, Baer, Ellingson, or Uhl). These guys have to be a factor in tomorrow's game.

Hawks: 78
Hoosiers: 69

I think the Iowa press causes IU fits and the hawks pull away late.

Our biggest advantage should be coaching. I hope Bryant keeps playing away from the basket, and IU's guards don't consider taking the ball to the basket a priority. Tough match up to predict. GO HAWKS!

Given the Hawks' terrible BTT tournament history, I don't have high hopes for tomorrow's game. Whatever happens, happens. I will be happy if they can win just one game in the BTT.

Man I'm not even stressed about this. I figured this year was rebuilding anyway and every win from here on out is a bonus. We are already heading to the NIT so kick back and enjoy the ride and see what happens.....Future is bright brah...
Was going to like this post until you through in your brah reference.

Hell, I worried about Penn State big time. It had trap written all over it.

Just get off to a good start - say the 1st 4 minutes near tied or leading, and I believe it'll end well.

I was at the Iowa/IU game a couple of weeks ago and Iowa IMO played one of their worst games in that contest. If we feed the beasts inside and take the outside shots when it's there, I really like our chances tomorrow.

Our keys will be creating turnovers, defensive rebounding, and shooting the three.

The new Cook who rebounds will be essential. Hopefully Indiana doesn't start to use Bryant in the post. It's going to be a dogfight.

I have heard they had a good weak of praktice so their is an 83% chance of sumding happining. If knot 60% of the time u r always wright. :)

I'd say the fact that anyone is tense about this game is a good sign. It actually means they're playing for something!

Enjoy it....it will all be gone soon. That is what it is for ultimately...for enjoyment.

Here's my thoughts on how this game will go. In the previous game Indiana shot a ton of threes and lived and eventually died by them, instead of feeding Bryant down low. I think this game they will make a real effort to keep feeding him the ball.. if we can keep him up top and make him think he is a 3 point shooter, then we will have a better shot to win. If he pounds it down low we have to go after him with our big's to try and foul him out. Get him in foul trouble early we got this game. It hinges on him in my opinion that or they get hot at the 3 ball.

Rebounding and free throw shooting, keys to us winning.
Actually I feel the 2-2-1 press and forcing turnovers is what is the key to the game. IU turns the ball over the most in the BIG 10 and if we can convert into points is my key to the game. This will get our guys easy buckets and get some good momentum.

Tom Crean coaches Indiana. You have nothing to worry about.
